“We celebrated a birthday at Ômo, and it was an exceptional experience. The curation of each dish and the attentive, genuine hospitality from the entire team made the evening feel truly special. A highlight was having Juan, Florida’s Michelin Sommelier of the Year 2026, guide several of our wine pairings. Along with the excellent service from the rest of the team, each wine was thoughtfully presented, beautifully explained, and perfectly complemented the dishes. Several were so memorable that we’ll be adding them to our own collection. The presentation, flavors, and hospitality made this a truly memorable dining experience. Thank you to Juan and the entire Ômo team for making this birthday so memorable. We look forward to returning.”
“Every time there is a birthday or anniversary, we go to a Starred restaurant in town. Omo was the last one on our list, so we came here for a big anniversary we had earlier this year. We made our reservations, arrived, buckled up, and went along for the ride. Ambiance was nice. I love when all of the diners are seated at a mega-bar around the kitchen. I like seeing all the phases of the dish being put together. And I also love that we got taken to a different room entirely for dessert. Dessert lounges are a trend I definitely want to stick around. The service was nice. It wasn't the scheduled down-to-the-second kind of service choreography that some Three Star restaurants have, but it was well-timed, and it was very friendly. If I had one recommendation, it would be to have staff slow down and enunciate more clearly when it comes to describing the dish. There are so many components to so many of them, I missed some of the words. As for the food, wow. Just wow. The website touts an experience that is both Japanese and French. We start off with the snacks course, a few little seafood courses, the big fish, the chicken, the meat, and then onto the dessert room. So there's plenty of food to go around. I won't detail everything, because it hopefully won't be the same when you come, and no one wants to read all that anyway. I will point out some highlights and lowlights. I'm gonna say it, this was one of the best snacks course I've had at tasting menu, ever. The wonderful contrasting textures, the intricate tweezer work on ingredients that actually help the flavor, it was just so good. The choose-your-own-chopstick-adventure box was a fun surprise. The playfulness of the emergency fork at the end of the box was hilarious. A really nice way for a place like this to lighten things up, for people who maybe come here a little stiff because of the pricetag. The crispiness of that chicken skin was unlike anything I've ever eaten, and I will remember it until my dying day. That was probably the biggest surprise of the night. Thank you for that, Omo. The biggest lowlight of the evening for me was the "beignet" that was served with the final savory, meat course. Whatever that thing was was not a beignet, and calling it one brings you great shame. The desserts were ultra fun. I like how they really wanted to showcase Florida citrus, I loved that Melon, a really impressive piece of fruit, and the playfulness of that box was something I hadn't seen in American tasting menus, I was really glad to see it. Overall, this was a very good experience. I will not rank it publicly against other Starred restaurants in Orlando, but if you are interested in that kind of stuff, just reach out, we can chat. A really nice meal, Omo. Thank you!”
“A once-in-a-lifetime anniversary experience Where do I even begin? Celebrating our anniversary at ÔMO by Jônt was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we were greeted with a personalized “Happy Anniversary Samah & Zack!” message on the tablet, we knew this evening was going to be something truly special. The chef’s table experience is intimate, theatrical, and deeply personal. You’re not just dining — you’re witnessing culinary artistry unfold right before your eyes. The food took us on an unforgettable journey. Highlights included: ∙ Delicate amuse-bouches — cocoa-dusted truffles with sea salt that melted instantly, and golden fried buns topped with foie gras and fresh herbs ∙ Stunning canapés served on sculptural risers — tiny tart shells bursting with golden caviar pearls, edible flowers, and the most elegant thin cracker ∙ A showstopping black truffle course — impossibly thin shavings piled generously over what appeared to be a silky egg yolk preparation. Pure luxury. ∙ A fish course so delicate it barely whispered — pristine white fish in a beautifully balanced broth with chives ∙ The meat course was the crown jewel — a perfectly cooked cube of wagyu-like beef in a deep, glossy jus, accompanied by a gorgeous rosé pairing ∙ Dessert brought everything home — a layered citrus and cream tart alongside a quenelle of sorbet on buttery crumble. Bright, refined, and not overly sweet. The service embodied the restaurant’s philosophy of omotenashi — selfless, anticipatory hospitality. Every detail was considered, every moment felt curated just for us. This is not just a meal. It’s a memory. If you’re looking for the perfect way to mark a milestone, ÔMO by Jônt delivers on every level. We will absolutely be back. Highly recommend the chef’s table for any special occasion — worth every moment.”
“Omo by Jont is a wonderful dining experience from start to finish. The evening feels like a journey, as you move through different rooms throughout the dining experience. They offer multiple chef-selected dining packages, and for this occasion, we chose “The Jaunt.” The service was top-notch from the moment we walked in. They greeted us warmly and acknowledged our anniversary every step of the way, which made the night feel extra special. The restaurant executes a beautiful blend of Japanese and French inspired dishes. From the appetizers to the desserts, every dish was well crafted and memorable. It’s hard to pick a favorite because everything felt unique, but our most memorable dishes were the trout asparagus croustade, the nanatsuboshi rice, the wagyu, and the desserts. The Bomb Yuzu and Crown Melon were fresh, delicious, and an experience of their own. They ended the night with a box of sweet treats with a thoughtful message, along with mint matcha lattes to go. It was such a special touch, and we even enjoyed them the next day. For those who drink, they also offer a wide range of drink tasting packages, as well as by-the-glass and bottle options. Overall, Omo by Jont is an unforgettable dining experience and perfect for a special occasion.”
“Review: A Disjointed Evening at Omo by Jont Rating: 3/5 Stars I visited Omo by Jont last night with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience landed in "mildly disappointed" territory. While there were flashes of brilliance, the evening lacked the seamless choreography and thoughtful progression one expects from a Michelin-starred establishment. The Atmosphere & Service The night got off to a rocky start. Despite having a 7:30 PM reservation, we stood in the entryway for a full five minutes without being greeted—a significant lapse for a restaurant of this caliber. Inside, the main dining area seemed to be struggling with an AC issue. While technical failures happen, it undeniably detracts from a premium experience when the staff is visibly dripping in sweat while serving your food. The vibe was further dampened by the music, which felt entirely uncurated. I have no problem with hip-hop being played all night, but listening to Soulja Boy’s "Crank That" in between bites of a $400 tasting menu felt incredibly misplaced. It felt less like a curated soundtrack and more like a "2000s Hip Hop" shuffle on Pandora, which didn't match the elevated experience we were paying for. The Menu: Highs and Lows We opted for The Jaunt tasting ($395/pp) and paired it with a bottle of Dassai Blue 23 ($180) rather than the wine pairing. This turned out to be a wise move. The pacing was aggressive—seven courses arriving roughly every 20 minutes—which left little room to breathe. The couple next to us had a "bottleneck" of five glasses on their table, unable to keep up with the speed of the service. * The Misstep: The experience began with a Pastrami Steamed Bun. This was an absolute failure in terms of menu composition. It was a heavy, rich bite that felt increasingly out of place as the night progressed, unnecessarily occupying "stomach real estate" that I would have preferred to save for the later courses. * The Highlights: The Crab Uni Leek was outstanding—easily one of the best dishes of the night. This was followed by a very creative Snap Pea Chawanmushi with incredible depth. The Rohan Duck and Wagyu Zabutton were both technically excellent. * The "Wall": The signature Nanatsuboshi Rice (risotto-style) was delicious but very heavy. Coming after that initial pastrami bun, it pushed us over the edge. By the time the main proteins arrived, we were too full to fully appreciate them. The Sweet Ending The transition to the pastry area was a highlight. The introductory "Orange" dish was refreshing, sweet, and highly creative. While the subsequent desserts were good, we hit a physical limit after the Melon course and had to tap out. Final Thoughts Omo by Jont delivers high-quality ingredients, but the flow and curation of the meal felt disjointed. When you are paying these prices, you expect a narrative that respects the diner's palate, pace, and senses. Between the service lapses, the jarring playlist, and the heavy-handed start, this remains one of my least favorite Michelin experiences in Orlando.”
