Log Haven, long synonymous with wildflowers, waterfalls and fine canyon dining, is located in a historic log mansion in the Wasatch National Forest, minutes from downtown Salt Lake City. Named "Top 10 Romantic Restaurants in the U.S." by USA Today and America's Most Scenic Restaurants (as featured in Forbes)! Consistently honored with the most national and local awards in the industry: Best Utah Restaurant, Best Salt Lake Restaurant, Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and the coveted Hall of Fame Award. “This is the highest honor we can give a restaurant in Utah. It means that besides having great food, terrific ambiance and passionate people, something magical has happened to make this restaurant so consistently excellent on all fronts that it thrives as an inspiration to everyone in the business.” -Salt Lake Magazine
“Went here to celebrate our anniversary and it was absolutely amazing! Great views, romantic setting, free valet, live music, and phenomenal food. We got the crab cakes, kale salad, and market steak. Every bite was beyond delicious! Thank you, Jonathon, for the recommendations!”
“We had a wonderful birthday celebration for my mom at Log Haven this year. Our server was wonderful, she was unhurried and kind. Our favorite dish is not pictured here because we ate it so fast - the cauliflower was an incredibly good appetizer. Don’t skip. The food was great, and I’m glad for the pace because it was filling food. They only boxed up about a third of what I had left on my plate, which was disappointing, because I just don’t eat big meals anymore and would have loved to enjoy it later. Make sure you ask for more bread if you’d like - you pay $5 a person for it, you should get as much as you’d like, as more bread is complementary after the initial purchase. The truffle butter is delicious. Note: I’m pretty sure they still charged us for the birthday dessert, even though they dressed it up for us. Be aware, as things stack up quick here. Plan on about $100 a person for a really well rounded meal.”
“Need a leisurely escape for a chill dinner in a quiet canyon but still close to the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, Log Haven in Millcreek Canyon is an ideal candidate. Excellent service, a good wine list with plenty of affordable bottles, and elegantly composed entrees are the standouts. Of note are the seared elk loin with an excellent port red currant reduction (served with fingerling yams and spaghetti squash), the market steak au poivre with duck fat fingerlings and charred brussel sprouts, and the bison strip loin served with jalapeno mac and cheese and corn salsa. There is a relaxing nostalgic vibe that primes a lovely evening perfect for great conversation— the prescription for a soothing respite from a busy day in the city. -From Les Roka at The Utah Review”
“I haven’t had the pleasure to write a review that is this stellar. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and are so glad we did at Log Haven! From the beginning of the valet service to the table service, it was impeccable. We felt welcome and taken care of, a special thank you to our waiter. The food was seasoned to perfection and I rarely say this. The meat was cooked to our liking as well. A special stand out was the grilled calamari and the Steak au Poivre. One tiny tiny request would be thinner wine glasses but that is definitely a preference ! Overall, this might have to be a gem in our books.”
“This is certainly one of the most romantic restaurants in the country. The location is just stunning and the interior and ambiance are wonderful. The menu is a limited and it’s a little pricy but the food was fantastic and the views were even better.”
