Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman is a place where foodies, beer lovers, and families escape the stresses of their day to day lives by enjoying an ice cold beer and a great meal while surrounded by people who consider them honored guests and friends. Our restaurants are founded upon a passion for craft and we are dedicated to mastering the craft of food, drink, and merrymaking…with Aloha! Our menu features fresh island fish, hand tossed pizzas from our kiawe wood burning oven, and homemade pies made from scratch. Thirty-six craft beers served at twenty-nine degrees are on tap, representing the coldest beer and best selection of microbrews on the island. Our culinary cocktails feature unique ingredients such as acai spirit, coconut water, and Kula lavender. Our passion for craft also extends to our diverse wine list, which emphasizes sustainability, drinkability and fun.
“Here depicted are the (largely) vegan offerings at Monkeypod Kitchen. 1. Coconut corn chowder (*side of bread has milk) 2. House cut fries (*aoli dip has milk) 3. Any pizza (special order no meat, cheese - I got the Margherita) (*all doughs contain honey) 4. (Not depicted) Veggie tacos (special order "vegan tacos") Happy eating!”
“While staying at the Four Seasons in Oahu, we decided to step off property for lunch one anfternoon and are so glad we did. Monkeypod Kitchen was incredible from start to finish. The atmosphere was exactly what you hope for in Hawaii. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather, the music created such a fun vibe without being too loud, and the entire restaurant felt clean, relaxed, and welcoming. The staff were genuinely friendly and service was excellent throughout the evening. We ordered the Kalua pork & pineapple pizza and it was honestly one of the standout meals from our trip. If you’re staying in Ko Olina and looking for a great restaurant with amazing food, great service, and a perfect island atmosphere, Monkeypod Kitchen is absolutely worth visiting.”
“Visited with a large group as a final dinner for our vacation. We got a nice selection of apps and entrees. Everything was delicious. Some of the apps are quite small for the price. Service can be slow at times but the food is worth the wait. The highlights of the meal were the Jerk Chicken and the Coconut Cream Pie. My son loved the Keiki Fish. Two people got the Kalua Pork and Pineapple Pizza. One was great and the other was a little undercooked (raw dough in the middle) which was a little disappointing. The drinks (I didn't get pictures of them all) were wonderful with great options for people who are living a sober life style. You can still get a Virgin Maitai and experience the infamous Lilikoi Foam. The Blind Tiger and Pina Coladas were also a big hit with the kids at the table. All in all, Monkeypod is a lovely restaurant for a special occasion, not an everyday experience. The prices are high and very much resort prices. Be prepared to drop a couple hundred dollars when all is said and done.”
“Monkeypod Kitchen is just a short walk from Aulani Resort. We made dinner reservations for our large party, and our table was ready once we checked in. We sat inside, but the patio area looked inviting as well. Overall, most of the food was good, and the drinks were great. The atmosphere and vibe were chill and pleasant with live music. The weather was also perfect for the evening. We started with some drinks; the Monkeypod Mai Tai was a big hit, and I enjoyed the Virgin Mai Tai. There were some interesting house cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and a big wine list. We ordered some appetizers to share, and I enjoyed the Wings, Taro Ravioli, and Kalua Pork Pizza. My main entree was Pete’s Fish & Chips. It was ok. The tempura-style fish had a nice crunch, but the coating was very salty. The hand-cut fries were tasty, though. Some of my family felt the saimin and fish sandwich was delicious as well. Our server and the staff were excellent, attentive, and kind. They checked on us regularly. The prices are on the premium side, but given the location across from the resorts and the quality and portions, it was fair. I'd be back to enjoy the cocktails and try other items on the menu.”
“Sad the quality of food has gone down while prices have increased. Staff was very nice while processing our order. Food was hot and delivered quickly. We ordered jerk chicken with garlic rice, chicken wings, fish sandwich with fries and extra garlic fries. Everything was sub par with the exception of chicken wings and garlic fries. This place was our go to years ago. We haven't been for a few years because it's a little out of the way and friends from that side of the island moved. With the chicken being $42, ended up throwing away half the chicken, all the rice, and one of the banana wraps. Parts of everything except the wings ended up in the trash.”
