Ozumo introduced chilled, high-quality sake to its’ guests, by curating one of the finest collections from Japan’s most esteemed brewers. As a long-standing establishment in Embarcadero, Ozumo remains committed to its culinary roots while also elevating its menu with the assistance of a new Chef Partner, Chef Yukinori Yamamoto. “We enjoyed a nice restaurant week meal here during spring 2026. The set menu for the week was steak and sea bass, both quite good. We also ordered a large plate of different sushi types which were tasty as well. The restaurant is very large inside with great views of the bay bridge out the back windows. It is not an affordable restaurant either, be prepared to spend a pretty penny on food and drinks here. Overall I enjoyed my meal here and would return for some sushi.”
“Amazing, the Tuna Belly was so incredible along with everything else. This was our best meal in San Francisco and I would go back again and again if I lived here!”
“Ryan served us at the bar and he was fabulous he came through with the recommendations. Let me tell you about the Kani korokke which was a star it was this little perfectly fried breaded ball filled with crab meat and a few kernels of corn. Then the hand rolls both the ebi tempura and the spicy toro were amazing the dumplings huh I could do without. Get the spicy Tokyo Vice we were stuffed m. Ryan was so on it and assisted with recommendations and made sure to check on us frequently. That all day happy hour on Fridays is something to definitely check into.”
“In terms of sushi- really a 3/5 if you’ve ever been spoiled by socal’s Sugarfish/Nozawa. The rice was a little undercooked and the fish wasn’t stellar. In terms of robata- better luck with the small plates and grilled items at Ozumo. Hitokuchi was our favorite dish. Our server was phenomenal despite being in charge of our entire section of 6 tables and a large party. She was accommodating, patient and so helpful with explaining menu items. The atmosphere is chic and you can choose seating between the main dining area and lounge. The dining area has views to the bay.”
“Good food and service was ok. Place is usually packed. Food was done well and tasty, decent portions. Good for sharing. Took along time to get my green tea and never got the hot water refill despite several requests.”
