“Bento box lunch here is our absolute favorite weekend stop. The octopus tacos (tako taco) are so refreshing, with the fresh octopus taste complemented perfectly with a hint of spice and the savory nori shell. Love that you get to try a lot of the sushi items in the $30 set, crispy tuna rice is also great! We also got dinner here and the selection and quality of their nigiri is impressive. Service is definitely faster during lunch, but it's very lively at night which is nice. They have cool drinks too, enjoyed their locally codeveloped whiskey. Overall great sushi place, one of our favorites in Chicago.”
“Our server Nancy was amazing. The food and atmosphere were on point. The Wagyu crispy rice was the star of the show. Highly recommend! Even the checkout was simply and quick. Using a qr code on the table we could split the bill between the 6 of us. The bill was already divided by what each of us ordered. Again, our server Nancy was the best!”
“Absolutely phenomenal from the food to the service to the food knowledge! Kate was super helpful and was the perfect amount of attentiveness! Loved every bite and cannot recommend the Otoro Otoro enough! The set from Toyosu melted in our mouths and we’ll be remembering this meal for a long time. Can’t wait to come back!”
“If you really like sushi, this is the spot. Savory, easy, and perfect without the pretension. Yes, contemporary urban decor that’s comfortable, and yes, the dark interior is crafted for subtle, calm cocktails to wet the palette. The menu, service, and delivery are precisely impeccable, however, beyond the curated atmosphere: sticky rice with tuna is legit, eggplant tempura paired with mayo dip is the ultimate crowd pleaser, and the fresh balfego tuna will knock you out. The nigiri sampler comes with chef’s kiss, each bite radiant and demonstrably more flavorful than your typical sushi. Worth it. Spend what it takes if you can. Kind and attentive service. I arrived at 5pm on a Thursday with a reservation and it was 30% full. By 6pm it was 100% packed, buzzing, frenetic. Is there better sushi in Chicago? Maybe not. This competes with the best of the east coast at every turn.”
“This was a perfect lunch after a long run. The waiter gave great advice, the food was prepared perfectly, and I topped it off with a small hot sake. I had the seaweed salad, spicy scallop, the trumpet mushroom, yuzu tomato, and chu-toro. The mushroom was a little chewy and hard to eat. But the rest of it was perfect. I came at an off hour so it wasn’t loud at all and I got seated right away. Highly recommend!”
