Sushihana Japanese Restaurant is a Japanese restaurant in the Castle Hills neighborhood of San Antonio.
“The food was SO GOOD! I am already raving about it to my friends and family. We came at lunch time and only faced a 5 minute wait. Our server was wonderful and on top of things, and a gentleman, who I presume to be the owner or manager, was also super attentive to us from the moment we walked in. He checked on us numerous times and we noticed him helping out his staff, which I always appreciate seeing in busy restaurants. The only negative feedback from our entire experience was the hostess- she gave extremely judgmental looks and did not give a good first impression when we first arrived. However, I’m glad we did not let that deter us from trying this fabulous restaurant. Will definitely return.”
“I tried it for the first time and liked their food. I had New Orleans sushi, mixed fried rice, seaweed salad, spring rolls, and green tea crème brûlée. The salad was fresh, though the cucumber was a little bitter. The quantity was enough for two people. 🍚The crème brûlée was the best; I would go back again just for that.”
“We came to Sushihana for my birthday this year... Which is already a difficult thing considering the date. We made a reservation about two weeks ahead and were sat immediately. Our waiter was wonderful with offering recommendations since this was our first time here. We were considering two different cold appetizers and we told him to choose one of the two. I'm so glad he picked the one he did because the seared albacore was amazing! My wife has never been a nigiri or sashimi lover so she wasn't sure she would like it, but she thought it was the best thing out of the whole meal. For drinks... My wife ordered the Japanese old fashioned and loved it. I was wanting a simple lychee martini but they didn't have one like that so we tried the lychee sake martini. I wasn't a big fan of that one because it was lacking the lychee flavor I was looking for so he gladly had the bartender modify it to my liking. For the main course we got three different rolls. The new Orleans, the spider, and the imperial. They were all awesome! My wife loved the new Orleans the most as she is from Louisiana and it's right down her alley. Mine was the imperial because it has such a clean and fresh flavor. The spider roll was also very good... Especially the fried crab in the middle. I loved the way they had the ends of the roll look like spider legs from the softshell crab. It really gave us a chance to taste the crab on it's own as well. I wanted to eat a dessert but I didn't have any room so instead I got a small Hana lychee sake to try. It was surprisingly smooth... Like get you drunk on the down low smooth. Lol. That was the perfect little touch to end our meal. This was the best sushi we have had in San Antonio. I would definitely say that Uniko is my second and sushishima my third.... But sushihana definitely takes the top spot.. And we can't wait to come back!”
“Extremely well-prepared dishes, both delicious and aesthetically pleasing. The fish is fresh and not too fishy. A good place for a date night. Expect a mix of people dressed upscale and families in pajamas. Good cocktail and mocktail menu. This was our second visit and both were good. Reservations recommended.”
“This is one of my favorite spots in San Antonio, they have been business for a while, and they’re very well known for their high-quality sushi. This time I came with my girlfriends and we got delicious food as usual, the setting inside the restaurant is super cute and I like that they also have a bar in case you just wanna have drinks and small plate plates. I highly recommend you make a reservation because this place is so popular that if you don’t have one, you will have to wait a little while. They have plenty of parking around the building, in the area where these restaurant is located at is safe. We got some sushi rolls and appetizers and everything was so yummy, as well as our drinks I normally get very good service here but for some reason this time our waiter seem to be rushing us, he wasn’t rude, but he wasn’t nice either. Let’s say he was just doing his job. This was a little disappointing, but it is the first time I get this kind of service. I will definitely come back again, hoping for better service next time.”
