“Wow! Just wow! We had appetizers, pastas, and desserts. Loved the burrata crostini and the radiatori vodka pasta especially, but there wasn’t anything we didn’t enjoy. The service was incredible and every single staff member we encountered (several) were so friendly! This was our last meal in Charleston before heading back home and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend!”
“Pelato is AMAZING!!! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was exactly what I expected. (Instagram hyped this place up,well deserved) Our experience was purely made by our waiter, Caleb. He is a phenomenal person! He started us with limoncello shots,so fun. He was overall a great conversationalist, funny, and very kind. Thank you!!”
“My son and I visited Palato tonight. It was amazing. We ordered The meatball dish and the baked ziti. We also ordered the appetizer of French bread with melted Parmesan, which was outstanding! The atmosphere at this location is perfect. I would call this a casual fancy restaurant. You can go here for a very fancy dinner or you can go for a very casual dinner. The plates are meant to be shared. Bring your appetite because there is a lot of food to order and it’s really good.”
“The restaurant featured an upbeat, modern atmosphere, different than what you would expect of typical Italian. The dishes were imaginative, and well prepared and plated. Service was fast and attentive, with the food itself being delicious - not too complicated and easy to enjoy. Caleb was a great server, and made every effort to make conversation and make our visit enjoyable. For this style of service, where food comes share style as it is made I would say this a great date night spot.”
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pelato in Charleston, and it’s one of those places that stays with you long after you leave—in the best way. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, lively, and inviting. There’s this beautiful balance between upscale and comfortable, like you’re somewhere special but still completely at ease. The space has such a vibrant energy—perfect for a date night, celebration, or just a night out where you want to truly enjoy yourself. The food was incredible. Every dish felt intentional, flavorful, and made to be shared. You can really tell they lean into that Italian, family-style experience—passing plates around, trying a little bit of everything, and savoring each bite. The pastas were rich and comforting, the appetizers were just as memorable, and everything came out fresh and beautifully prepared. It’s the kind of meal where you find yourself talking about your favorite bites long after the table is cleared. But what truly made the experience stand out was the service. The staff made us feel genuinely cared for, especially our server, Ashley, who was attentive without being overwhelming, knowledgeable about the menu, and clearly passionate about what she does. It felt less like being served and more like being welcomed. Overall, Pelato isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place to experience. Between the atmosphere, the shareable dishes, and the heartfelt hospitality, it’s a spot I would absolutely return to and recommend to anyone visiting Charleston or looking for a memorable night out.”
