“What can I say! Phenomenal. To start we had calamari and their house meatballs. In Italian friend of mine has always told me to gauge an Italian restaurant by their meatballs. They did not disappoint. We were able to family style, quite a few great dishes. The pork chop was fantastic. The short rib pasta was wonderful. The pesto dish was something special. Pillowy noodles with a pesto sauce that’s so good even if you don’t like pesto, you would eat it. Steak was great. It was all wonderful. Desserts were a hit too. I recommend the donuts. Highly recommend the establishment overall.”
“There are not enough stars in the whole Google Review universe to express how amazingly wonderful this restaurant is. We typically don't eat at Italian restaurants because my husband is gluten free (allergic to wheat) and I don't care for anything with sauces. But when previewing the menu, both clams and gluten free pasta were available - and the reviews were good. Clams are my favorite meal of all time and I rarely ever see them on any menu. Both dishes did not disappoint - the GF pasta was the best we ever tried and the clams were over-the-top fabulous. The menu is diverse and the staff was very pleasant. I would recommend this restaurant to all. It was a little pricey, but - you get much more than what you pay for - Excellence Beyond Belief!!!”
“Scala Osteria is a really awesome find in downtown Napa. This might have been our best lunch of the entire trip! The pizza and pasta were both amazing—perfectly prepared and full of flavor—and the dessert was superb. The atmosphere is vibrant and the service is excellent. If you're looking for top-tier Italian food in wine country, this is a must-stop.”
“I’ve visited Scala Osteria for a solo dinner and this is my personal experience. Let me just say because I didn’t have a reservation, I sat at the bar which is on a first come first basis with a full menu. Pros: Friendly hosts/hostesses as soon as you walk in. The ambiance is truly beautiful. They even have outdoor seating if you’d prefer. My bartender/waiter went above and beyond. It’s a shame I don’t remember his name. There’s no dress code, just come in whatever makes you comfortable. Hot towel was provided to me after I ate those baby back ribs. Foods: were excellent except for a minor hiccup with the oysters 🦪 which I will state under the cons. Foods have the perfect amount of spices not too salty and not spicy 🌶️ hot. Cons: Only street parkings are available. It can be so loud to the point you can’t even hear yourself talking to the bartender. Last but not least there small rocks 🪨 in my oysters. I took a picture to show you what they look like. Overall I had one of the best dining experiences in Napa. I wouldn’t get the seafood spaghetti or I would opt out for the oysters. It’s not worth breaking a tooth for. I need to stress out about how phenomenal the service was and I would 1000% recommend this lovely restaurant.”
“We love Scala’s, and it makes sense since we’re also big fans of the owner’s other restaurant, Bistro Don Giovanni. The food is consistently excellent and very well made. Every dish we’ve had has been thoughtfully prepared, and the specials are always worth ordering. If arancini is available as a special, get it. Our favorites are the lasagna and the short ribs, but honestly, everything on the menu has been solid.”
