Superica – “where sunshine spends the winter” – also known as Tex-Mex cuisine served in an Old-West-inspired atmosphere alongside music inspired by Austin. The cuisine is a combination of 1950s Tex-Mex and the wood grill that has taken the food to another level by way of fajitas and more. An “evolved Tex-Mex menu,” includes the classics: tacos, nachos, tamales and enchiladas plus more intricate dishes such as wood-grilled fajitas and shrimp tacos always served with just-made flour tortillas, all while paying homage to the traditions and recipes that have been a part of the Texas culture for decades.
““I came to Nashville to visit the city, and we decided to try this Mexican restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. Everything was fresh and full of flavor, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I can honestly say the food here is a million times better than the famous Javier’s restaurant in California that everyone is so proud of. This place was one of the best surprises of my trip, and I would happily come back on my next visit to Nashville.””
“The vibes are immaculate. The food is delicious. The tuna tostada appetizer is criminally underrated. They have delicious margaritas (one of which is frozen). Also, Bri (the human person) is an absolute delight. She will steer you to the yummiest food options ;) I forgot to take photos, so here's a picture of our "dessert". Our dessert was the frozen marg. Alcohol is just spicy sugar. Roll with it!”
“The food was amazing! The Christmas in July was so good, I ordered two of them. Liv was fabulous + bar manager (Jeff I think) was accommodating and very friendly. Would recommend anyone give them a try, especially during brunch.”
“For breakfast only, thought the offering was fine nothing special (coming from NM). Good portions good prices, they have some seperate hot suces that are flavorful, but i thought standard red and green once cooked too similar. Night time it gets super busy expect long waits. A place to see and been seen the later it gets. If you are old unattractive and unfriendly like me probably not a dinner spot. Parking (paid) can be tough.”
“What once was one of the best Mexican restaurants in Nashville is now highly disappointing. My family and I have been enjoying this restaurant for years, however, on our last visit we discovered that the menu had changed as well as how the food is prepared and presented. The new menu is much smaller now, some of which we ordered regularly is no longer available. The food that we were able to order was presented poorly and taste different than what was served in the past. One of us ordered a simple cheese enchilada entree only to have it arrive drowning in so much chili sauce that it was nearly to the very edge of the plate almost spilling over! And the taste was horrible. (See photo). Their salsa that is served with their complementary chips is as thin as water. Such a disappointment. Also, the service is at best mediocre. This will be our family’s final trip to Superica in Nashville. It’s hard to understand why they would make such poor changes to their menu and food when it was so great before. New owners??? New management??? Who knows, but it’s terrible now.”
