“We're on a business trip, and this is my second time here—they just keep impressing me. That's why I waited to leave a review; I wanted to see if they could keep up the quality. They totally have. The food is amazing. The barbacoa tacos were so good we ordered them twice, and the chicharrón de ribeye is super unique—you gotta try it. Everything's so flavorful and clearly made with care. Their salsas are awesome—something for everyone, from mild to super spicy. You can tell they really care about every little thing. Big shoutout to Felix the bartender—he's a great guy, super friendly, and you can tell he genuinely wants you to have a good time. I hear they've already opened a new spot in Florida and are planning to expand to Houston. If that's true, Houston's Mexican food scene better get ready—this is next-level stuff that's gonna raise the bar. Totally recommend it.”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely amazing experience! The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Every dish we tried was outstanding. The service was truly on point, and our server, Carlos Estrada, made the experience even better. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and gave great food suggestions that we loved. Carlos made us feel welcomed and well taken care of from start to finish. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this restaurant!”
“If you’re looking to take your significant other on a romantic date night, The Mexican is an excellent choice. The atmosphere was definitely romantic, and my girlfriend and I had an amazing time. As someone who is disabled and uses a wheelchair, I really appreciated how accommodating and accessible everything was. They made sure the entire experience was smooth for me, which meant a lot. Parking was a bit hectic, but the valet staff were incredibly kind and handled everything perfectly—so it wasn’t an issue at all. As for the service, it was top tier. Our waiter was awesome—despite it being a busy night, we never had to look for him. He was always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. For food, my girlfriend had the enchiladas, which were excellent. I had the barbacoa tacos, and they were made right at the table, which I thought was a really nice touch. I would definitely recommend making a reservation since it does get packed, but the process was super easy and accommodating. Overall, I highly recommend The Mexican if you’re looking for a classy, romantic date night spot.”
“Very nice restaurant. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. There was plenty of space between tables so you didn't feel closed in. The food was well prepared, flavorful and beautifullly presented on the plate. Be careful ordering dessert, they are HUGE. But worth saving a bit of room for the end of the meal. I was a bit dismayed by the sides. A good portion of the entrees came without sides yet the options for the table didn't really mesh with the cuisine. The music itself was a good mix but it was so loud that hearing the other side of the table was a challenge. My Old Fashioned was a little on the sweet side which I can excuse but the real disappointment was the Mexican coffee. The cinnamon was barely present and had the sugar on the side. Not the experience I was expecting.”
“Some restaurants impress with flavor; others with feeling. The Mexican leans heavily into the latter. The space carries a cultural elegance that immediately sets the tone: warm, polished, and thoughtfully designed. The ambiance invites you to linger, and the service matches it: attentive, welcoming, and genuinely refined from start to finish. We began with tableside guacamole and queso fundido, followed by tacos, a 22 oz ribeye, and a round of cocktails: an Old Fashioned and a Paloma, both well executed. The experience was pleasant across the board, though the food itself never quite rose to the level the pricing suggests. It was decent, but not particularly memorable. The exception, and the highlight of the evening, was the campechana dessert. A perfect finish and easily the standout dish of the evening. A true 10/10. The Mexican excels in presentation, ambiance, and hospitality. It’s a beautiful place to spend a night out, even if the kitchen doesn’t fully match the promise of the room. We left appreciating the experience and open to returning in hopes the kitchen rises to the occasion.”
