“Located in The Proper hotel sits this beautiful and delicious Mediterranean restaurant. The menu is small, but they execute the food very well. It’s not great value for money in my view, but it’s to be expected for a hotel restaurant. The mezze plate is small for the price and we ended up with most of the items duplicated with our main dishes. The falafel was quite hard and dry, but the rest of the food was perfectly cooked. The flat bread was delicious. I would come back, but I was would skip the mezze platter and focus on the mains.”
“First time at this restaurant. Dining party of 5 to celebrate a birthday. First impressions, I really like the subdued lighting and Mediterranean theme. Beautiful. We started with cocktails. The Gold Rush, Pomegranate Martini and Banana Bread Old Fashioned was delicious and refreshing. We had the Hawaij Chile Hummus and Manti Dumplings. The flavor was on point. Savory yet a little spicy. We opted to go with the Mixed Grill, which was a great choice. It gave us a variety of delicious meats and fed our table perfectly. We also added the Lamb Chops which were tender and had a great flavor. To round out our meal, our manager created a dessert platter which was a combination of several sweet offerings to include Baklava, Housemade Ice Cream, and the Chocolate Pistachio Bar. After our meal, we took a short walking tour of the hotel and The Quill Room. Really beautiful views. We'll try that bar on our next trip to Proper Hotel. Service was great and the manager imparted some words of wisdom to our son who was celebrating his 25th birthday. Definitely recommend this restaurant.”
“Amazing place to eat and be with your loved ones! My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary, and our server, Laurel, was absolutely amazing!! She was so kind, helpful, and really brought the atmosphere together for us. Definitely will come here again and recommend!!”
“This place is nice, but the lights are too low. I had dinner here on June 3rd and the lights were so incredibly low, it wasn’t sexy anymore. It completely took away from ambiance which was nice. We had a dinner for 8 people with shrimp, chicken tagine, chicken kabob, lamb chops, rice, carrots, and two types of salad + short rib hummus and dumplings. If you’re writing a review, you could tighten it up like this: For my drink, I ordered the passion fruit green tea. The passion fruit flavor was strong and enjoyable, but the tea itself was quite bitter. It really needed a sweetener like agave to balance it out—which surprised me because I typically drink my coffee black. The restaurant serves the tea in a personal mini pitcher, which was a nice touch, but unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped because of the bitterness. Or, if you want it a little more conversational: I ordered the passion fruit green tea. The flavor was nice, but it was much more bitter than I expected and really needed some agave or another sweetener to balance it out. That’s saying a lot because I usually drink black coffee. They serve it in a cute personal mini pitcher, which I loved, but the tea itself just wasn’t quite there for me. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this place.”
“We went out for dinner and really loved the ambience. We ordered shallot hummus, lamb chops, and shrimp kebabs, along with a side of saffron rice with dill and pistachios. The saffron rice was absolutely heavenly, the aroma of saffron combined with the crunch of pistachios made it especially delicious and memorable. For dessert, we had warm date pudding served with ice cream, which was a perfect ending. Overall, the food and atmosphere were excellent, but the prices were quite high.”
