Ragazza opened its original location in 2013—serving up Italian family recipes and a wide selection of Italian wines. We are extremely proud of our new location—4301 Main Street. Like our original location, it is also a cozy, corner spot and is walking distance from both Westport and the Plaza. Ragazza features the same delicious food and wine while expanding to accommodate more fresh food, delicious wines…but most importantly…more of our amazing clientele. After a long construction process, we are elated to welcome everyone back to our home. And, we are ever grateful for the continual support of our patrons who have become our friends and regulars. Thank you Kansas City…we are glad to be back with you!
“My husband and I ordered the shrimp linguine and didn’t realize it WASN’T Alfredo sauce but they were quick to help us get something that we liked. We ended up having the carbonara and loved all the bacon in it. Great service!”
“Ragazza was completely booked the first time we stopped by, which told me right away it’s a popular local favorite. The dining room is small and cozy, and it has that welcoming neighborhood feel where it seems like everyone knows each other. Reservations are definitely recommended. On our first visit, we ordered carryout. The Roasted Goat Cheese (baked goat cheese with red sauce and oregano) had great flavor, though the crostini was missing from the order. The Lasagna Bolognese was outstanding — easily some of the best I’ve ever had. Rich, perfectly layered, and full of flavor with the bolognese, parmesan béchamel, red sauce, and mozzarella. For dessert, the Limoncello Cake was bright and delicious, and the NY-style salted caramel cheesecake was dense and so good. We were impressed enough that we went back — this time with reservations — and dined in. On our return visit, we had the Swordfish with lemon caper butter, sautéed greens, and rosemary potatoes. It was cooked perfectly, with bright, balanced flavors and generous portions. We ordered the Lasagna Bolognese again (it’s that good), and it did not disappoint. For dessert, we tried the Tiramisu, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The imported cookies, mascarpone, espresso, and cocoa were perfectly balanced — light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The service was excellent, the portions were large, and the flavors were spot on across the board. What started as a convenient spot near our hotel turned into a place we’d absolutely go out of our way to visit again. Ragazza truly lives up to its reputation as a local gem.”
“Cute atmosphere with a large bar in front of TVs. The restaurant was quite busy when we went Saturday at around 5:30pm but we were able to snag a table quickly. Yummy salads and a good happy hour that goes every day. The Cacio e pepe was good but a little lackluster. Service was excellent and friendly.”
“I couldn’t give an overall 5 star rating because of the acoustics. It was very loud and made it difficult for us to converse. Food was very good as well as service. It’s a quaint, cozy feeling. I would recommend.”
“Overall, the food here is very average to below average. We came here for dinner and the atmosphere was great. The restaurant had a nice vibe, and the service was nice and attentive. We ordered the meatballs and caprese off the happy hour menu. Meatballs were really tasty - tender, great flavor, lots of sauce. Caprese was very plain and bland. For dinner, we got the rigatoni bolognese, carbonara, and clam linguine. The rigatoni was disappointing, sauce was thin and bland. Clam linguine lacked flavor, it just didn't have much taste, but the littleneck clams were good. The carbonara was the best dish we had. Sauce was thick and creamy, with good amount of parmesan. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake, which was much thicker and denser than a typical cheesecake, and the tiramisu didn't have the light lady fingers base, but a dense crust. We didn't care for either dessert. We finished our night with an espresso martini and it was pure amaretto, we didn't finish the drink.”
