Ravines Wine Cellars and Estate Vineyards We welcome you to taste from our portfolio of dry, expressive wines from our estate vineyards. Ravines pioneered a style of bone dry and mineral-tinged Dry Riesling in 2002, the first in the Finger Lakes. We produce our wines from 130 acres of pristine vineyard land, on the sloped limestone and shalestone soils of Seneca and Keuka Lake. Started in 2000 by French-trained Oenologist, Morten Hallgren and his wife, Lisa, a chef they set out to create an estate vineyard focusing on elegant and expressive dry wines and create foods from local ingredients that pair well with them. They have created a community of food and wine lovers in their RAVINOUS Wine Club dedicated to the pursuit of perfect pairings. We offer seated, guided tastings flights and wine service in our tasting room. We have a savory seasonal menu of small plates available to order with your tasting, including vegetarian, vegan and GF options, made in house from the local produce, meats and cheeses from our local fields, farms and creameries, and honey from our own beehives. We also offer wines by the bottles or glass and food at our tasting bar without a reservation(first come, first served) and our food menu at our walk up window on the patio, weather permitting. “What a lovely winery! We visited this place Wednesday morning and took the first wine tasting reservation spot at 10 am. It was quiet and the barn setting overlooking the winery through the large window was simply beautiful and picturesque. I visited popular wineries in Finger Lakes over the years and Ravines is now on my favorite list. Servers were friendly and attentive and we had the best time here. Can’t wait to come back again!”
“We had a wonderful time at Ravines, another beautiful Finger Lakes region winery. We called a day in advance, and easily secured a tasting. Completely understandable why they ask for reservations. The approach up to the property had an extra bonus of an apple orchard that was great photos. The property itself, what 100+ year old barn was beautiful to look at and a perfect spot for tasting. Our tasting guides were knowledgeable and friendly and we’re generous with the pores. We sample the number of wines and took a few home. Appreciated their thoughtfulness and care In describing the wines we selected. All in all a great experience. Do not let a few unhappy reviewers spoil your coming to this place. They are definitely worth your stop.”
