“Went to Sayat over the weekend and it was absolutely delicious. We got the sampler appetite as we have little experience with actual Armenian food and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Their stuffed grape leaves was delicate and full of flavor. Pita bread was soft and savory and their hummus left us wanting more. As a main dish I got their sautéed lamb and can’t speak more positive of this dish. The bite sized lamb was tender full of flavor and their hummus left vegetables were just as well prepared. My only regret is the fact that we probably won’t be back to Chicago anytime soon and I won’t get to go here again.”
“Absolutely LOVE this restaurant!!! Every time I visit Chicago, this is on my list! Food is delicious and not overpriced. The lamajun is AMAZING as well as the chicken, rice, and hummus. Staff is helpful and friendly. The environment is cozy, inviting, and dimly lit which adds to the atmosphere. Located off Michigan Ave, it’s in the perfection spot and is truly a hidden gem!”
“This place has amazing Armenian food. The workers are very nice. But I really can’t understand music taste. I was expecting actual Sayatnova or real old Armenian fashioned music, the Armenian pop-rap or the tatul style really is neither the best way to represent Armenia’s music culture nor the best Armenian music to enjoy such a delicious Armenian food under. I really hope to feel a different atmosphere next time I come, because the food is truly amazing and the service is beyond kind and caring.”
“This place is a must!!!! It was my first time trying Armenian food and it was so delicious. Everything was excellent. The service was attentive, the food was all fresh and tasted homemade and I loved the ambience and decoration inside the restaurant. We had appetizers, dinner, and stayed for tea and dessert! When I’m back in Chicago, I will definitely be back and have a meal here.”
“Coming from Armenia, it’s such a joy to find a place like Sayat Nova that instantly feels like home. The food is authentic and full of soul. Every dish reminds of family gatherings and traditional Armenian hospitality. What made the experience even more special is the warmth of the ambiance and staff. Highly recommended for anyone looking for genuine Armenian cuisine, warm service, and a comforting, familiar atmosphere.”
