“The food is so good here. Nothing we had was bad. The Shrimp Corn Dog bites with spicy mustard I could have eaten as a meal. The crab grilled cheese with tomato soup was hands down my favorite. The shrimp with grits were so good and very filling! Very dog friendly on the outside patio you walk dog through the restaurant. Kolin was superb and a joy to have as a server! We had been driving 12 hours and had 7 more to go! We got home 640 am after we saw Kolin 700 pm Louisiana time! The weather was oppressive but hey Spring time in Louisiana I guess! We got a plain burger for the dog he said it was best one ever! We will be back for sure, who knows maybe next week! Thank you Kolin!”
“We went to SoLou for the first time today. It is our wedding anniversary tomorrow and we wanted to try this restaurant. It absolutely did not disappoint! We had the Crawfish Beignets for an appetizer, they were phenomenal. Great texture and flavor! My wife had the Crab and Brie Grilled cheese and she was very happy with it, the tomato soup was delicious. I had the SoLou Burger and when I tell you it was absolutely delicious I am not kidding. I fancy myself a burger snob and it was just wonderful! Our waitress Natalie A. and her trainee (i wish i remembered his name)- great young man, were very professional and upbeat. Knowledgeable of the menu and restaurant. From the front of house to the chefs and staff preparing our meal I just want to say a big thank you. You guys delivered and we will definitely be back!”
“This was my husband and I first time and we thoroughly enjoyed it! From the service walking through the door, the waiter (Val), the atmosphere, and leaving out of the door! The food was great. We both enjoyed our brunch! I had the Basic AF and my husband had the chicken and waffles. The corn grits were so good I ordered more! For our appetizer, we had the crawfish beignets, they were good, however I would call them crawpups. Lol, they were more like crawfish stuffed hush puppies. Still yummy, just expected a beignet or at least a little sweet with the savory! Val was great and attentive, he even went above to get my husband regular sugar for his coffee. I want to try the crab and brie grilled cheese next time we go for brunch! We are looking forward to trying dinner next time we are in town! Highly recommend!”
“I love SoLou! I am pescatarian so I have a lot of options here. Vegetarians could eat here, but there aren’t many options. I ordered the Zydeco Cauliflower last time I went and it was AMAZING! The thai sweet chili sauce they use is insanely good. All of the cocktails I’ve had there were good too. The service is okay, the waitresses/waiters are always nice but the food takes a long time to come out. To be fair, it is always busy when I have eaten there for lunch and dinner. I recommend getting dessert, especially if it’s your birthday! The tabletop s’mores are really cute and good, but the white chocolate bread pudding is the best I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend eating here for birthdays, special occasions, a casual lunch or dinner, a celebration, etc.”
“Overall, I enjoyed my experience; the chairs were very comfortable, the table settings were lovely, and the outdoor seating area looked beautiful. However, I wanted to highlight a few areas for improvement based on our visit. We arrived during a busy period and waited about 30–40 minutes. Because there was no indoor seating available for waiting, we went outside, but found the outdoor waiting area lacked shade. We ended up standing on the side of the building to avoid the sun. Additionally, when our table was ready, the hostess mentioned my phone number had been entered incorrectly, likely due to how loud it was inside at the time. Once seated around 2:50 PM, we were given a limited brunch menu, though I didn’t see a specific timeframe listed for when brunch ends. We loved the boudin queso. I really enjoyed my burger, but my boyfriend found the crab grilled cheese a bit fishy and felt it relied heavily on the soup for balance. We did experience a delay in receiving our food, which a passing server mentioned was due to the kitchen being backed up. Lastly, we were disappointed by the communication regarding dessert. We ordered the turtle cheesecake and paid our bill, only to be told twenty minutes later that the item was out of stock. After sitting for a while, I quickly chose an alternative, which took another 10 minutes to arrive. Thank you for taking the time to read about our experience. I hope this feedback is helpful for your team.”
