Situated in the heart of Napa Valley, Sullivan Rutherford Estate has been Rutherford’s Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon hideaway for over five decades. Founded in 1972 by James O’Neil Sullivan, during the apex of the boutique winery movement, vines were first planted on the 26-acre estate in 1978, per the encouragement of legendary winemaker, André Tchelistcheff. Under new family ownership in 2018, the team has been deeply invested in its vineyard programs on the Estate and through two recently acquired properties in Napa Valley’s best vineyard sites. Plans are also underway to build a state-of-the-art winery that will further elevate and extend the 50 years of hard work, vision, and pioneering spirit of its Founder. Today, the team strives to be at the forefront of quality in the vineyards and wines while staying authentic to the classical nature of the winemaking tradition and endeavors to create gracious customer experiences that allow people to connect through shared passions.
