The fish was incredibly fresh, and each piece is balanced and thoughtfully prepared. Service is warm, attentive, and perfectly paced, making the entire meal feel seamless. Overall, it’s an outstanding dining experience I’d highly recommend this place!! Definitely will be back!”

“Wow. What a wonderful hidden gem in Kent… had such a real treat dining at Sushi Kaunta and had the entire place to ourselves. It’s not an omakase. But there are chef specialties you need to order in advance as Chef Sean is the only man running the entire business— cooking, cleaning, hosting— I respect it. Fish quality is meticulously chosen, and each nigiri is hand pressed with precision. Every sashimi from the kaisendon was so soft and buttery 😭 The most surprising piece was the albacore, which I ate first to “get it out of the way for the better pieces” but was actually one of the highlights of the night for how soft and supple the flesh was. We separately ordered Saba, one of my favorites, and it was so fresh you could still see the skin sheen shimmering 😳🪩 He used real wasabi, rice was seasoned, and even the ginger was good what the heck?? This spot is definitely worth the drive. Affordable (for premium sushi) and star quality— we👏love👏that👏 Half Premium Kaisendon $45 Chefs choice 14 pcs nigiri $69 ⭐️ Tip is to try to book on Tock at the beginning of the month. There’s an $80 deposit but it’ll be refunded afterwards girl math I just had my meal for free ✨”

“Based on the reviews for this place I knew we would like it. But the experience exceeded ALL expectations. The sashimi was so delicious and fresh that it seemed like it was caught 10 minutes ago. We got one roll, the Urban, and the flavors were so amazingly balanced. The atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect. Because of the size of the restaurant and the very controlled reservations, we essentially had private dining. The chef was prompt and attentive to the perfect degree. We could enjoy our delicious meal without too many interruptions but he was there to ensure we had everything we wanted. We spent the latter half of our meal deciding which friends we would bring next time.”

“An absolute gem in Kent. The restaurant has a cozy, traditional Japanese atmosphere that immediately makes you feel relaxed and welcome. I had the 18-piece sushi platter, and every single piece was beautifully balanced and incredibly fresh. I also ordered an uni sushi on the side, and it was outstanding. The chef explained that it was Hokkaido uni, and the flavor was on another level—rich, clean, and naturally sweet. From now on, I think I’ll only be ordering Hokkaido uni. The chef was exceptionally kind and took the time to explain the dishes, which made the entire experience feel personal and special. Amazing food, warm hospitality, and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone who truly appreciates high-quality sushi.”

“Worth it! Very fresh and delicious sushi - had half size kaisen don and 14 piece chef’s choice nigiri with miso soup plus one each sea urchin sushi and real crab inari. Plenty for the two of us and it was nice to show up for our reservation and our order is already being prepared. Cozy small space and very welcoming. Very nice I speak to the chef himself. Many new fish I’ve never tried before and expertly prepared. Thank you for a great experience! Also got fresh loaf of bread afterwards at the bakery on the corner because they were still open. Win all around.”
