We are an upscale casual new American restaurant in the heart of Kennett Square offering fresh food and beverages with a focus on share plates. Chef's Zack and Karessa met in culinary school in North Carolina and have since traveled the country and world together, learning about different cuisines and cultures. They moved to Chester County in 2021 and had their daughter Amelia (the namesake of the restaurant) in 2022. With a combined 20 years of industry experience they take pride and joy in their work and wanted to create a restaurant that was approachable, comfortable and still gave excellent service and food. Sweet Amelia's prides ourselves on sourcing locally to support our farmers and community. Our menu changes monthly to reflect the changing seasons. We are partnered with R Five Wines, a Sonoma Winery based out of Downingtown, PA. Try their amazing wines at our restaurant by the glass or the bottle, or buy bottles to go. You can find Sweet Amelia's at their tasting room as well, offering charcuterie, seasonal pizzas and small bites. Book out our back room for your next private event! You and up to 20 people can dine for a personally crafted, seasonal menu. We also offer catering on the go! Contact us for more information. Join us every third Thursday for dining in the street, May through October! Reservations recommended.
“First time visit and definitely one of many more. Service was perfect and friendly from the moment we stepped in. Menu had several difficult decisions to make. We went with chicken liver patte, stuffed mozzarella followed by mussels and Wagyu beef. Abundant and scrupulous meal. Cocktails featured local bourbon and were also perfect. Ended the meal with popovers covered in a lemon poppyseed sauce ( to die for). Already looking to book our next visit. Making Johnson and Wales proud!!! Chef came out and introduced himself. A wonderful craftsman.”
“This restaurant serves great food that’s executed technically and flavors are layered with intent. Portions vary by plate, but expect to pay $40-50 per person for a full meal. I had some reservations when I saw this restaurant listed on a website that ranked it as one of the best new restaurants in the West Philadelphia suburbs, but the first bite of their non-rotating menu chicken skin tea sandwich erased all my doubts. While most menus rotate every month, this sandwich remains a constant. We tried five dishes, and each one was superb. I’ll definitely be returning, even though it’s a 40-minute drive.”
“Lovely staff and great atmosphere, everyone working is sweet and helpful, love the mulled wine and I can never stop thinking about the chicken skin sandwich! Highly recommend if you’re looking to take yourself or someone out for a nice time with amazing food. Definitely will be going back.”
“This was one of the most special meals I have ever had!! We met the owner who was so lovely. Every dish is made with love and you can taste it. So much flavor and attention to detail. This is better than Michelin Star dining I have had as a NYC local. Thank you to this lovely spot for having us ❤️”
“Owner/ Chef Zach was wonderful! His menu was fresh, portioned well and very delicious. Each dish was plated with the utmost care, flavors and textures were such a treat to the palate. We enjoyed every bite!”
