“My wife and I came here for the first time and decided to try the omakase, and it honestly exceeded our expectations. Every course was beautifully presented — simple, elegant, and incredibly thoughtful. More importantly, everything tasted amazing. What really stood out was the pacing and service. The dishes came out at just the right speed, so there was never a long wait between courses. Our server was friendly, attentive, and took the time to explain each plate — from the type of fish to the sauces and garnishes, and even the best way to enjoy everything together. You could tell a lot of care went into the entire experience. The omakase was also surprisingly filling. By the end of the meal, I was completely satisfied, but at the same time, I genuinely didn’t want it to end. It’s rare to have a dining experience where you’re already thinking about coming back before you’ve even left the restaurant. We’ll definitely be returning to Takai by Kashiba.”
“Amazing omakase experience. The omakase consisted of 18 smaller sized nigiris which allowed you to try an array of different fish/seafood. The sardine and Chu-toro were the stand outs for me. Good portion of food. Come hungry. I would go again if in the area.”
“Takai was an above average omakase experience in Bellevue. Service was excellent for sure from beginning to end - much more formal and attentive than I expected. We did the omakase in the dining room at a table instead of the counter and I definitely wish we had done the counter - it's just a more engaging experience. All the dishes we tried were quite good but I can't say I had anything I hadn't tried before at a different similarly styled restaurant in the area. Seattle/Bellevue have a thriving sushi/omakase scene so competition is high. The atmosphere was well decorated, if not a bit small, but it did still feel like a corporate building. No major complaints for our Takai dinner, but for the cost and competition in this dining area, it was a solid 4/5.”
“We visited Takai by Kashiba for a family dinner and enjoyed an omakase experience. Overall, the quality of the ingredients, execution, and the refined atmosphere were excellent. The progression of the courses felt thoughtful and well-paced, and the chef’s intent was clearly reflected in each piece. That said, the seasoning was a bit on the stronger side for our personal taste. Since the sushi follows a traditional Edomae style with pre-seasoned fish, the saltiness tended to build up toward the latter half of the meal. Those who prefer lighter seasoning may want to keep this in mind. Still, it’s a great choice for a special occasion, and I would gladly return—next time requesting a slightly lighter seasoning on the rice.”
“Very underwhelming omekase experience. The nigiris are good, but not amazing. Serving scolding hot miso soup with ice cream is an odd choice for the last dish (good luck sensitive teeth). Also, there is a piece of fish scale on of the fish (see last pic). Excellent service For me the value proposition is not there. Way better value for omekase in Vancouver.”
