“They open reservation only options a month in advance (currently, Wednesdays through Saturdays, after 6PM). You pay at the time of the reservation. The restaurant is located NW Houston, just outside the inner loop (610 freeway). The do not serve alcohol. I have attached a few pics of the samples we liked. The email you use to make your reservation is where your final receipt will be sent. Save your coins and take yourself or a boo on a date. IF you feel like it is deserved, of course😉 Customer service was great and they described each dish as it was prepared and brought to the table. It is pricey, so plan well! Ducked off type of vibe. You wouldn’t know it was a restaurant if you did not type in the address. It is in a regular shopping strip. The inside can seat about 8 couple, so it’s super intimate. If you put dietary restrictions, someone will reach out for specifics. Water is provided. I am not sure about anything else, but it is BYOB for a fee.”
“We visited a little over a month ago and our experience was amazing! The food was delicious! So much that we had a hard time deciding which of the nine courses was our favorite. I can’t stress enough how much we loved this experience… it’s a mix of culture, art and foodie dreams 🎉 if you get a chance make the reservations as soon as they open it’s worth the $$$”
“My wife surprised me for my birthday at Tatemó and it was one of those dining experiences that stays with you long after the last course. Hidden inside an unassuming Houston strip center (no sign on the outside), this Michelin-starred gem completely redefines what Mexican fine dining can be. The evening started slightly difficult because (with Houston traffic) we actually arrived very early (about 20 mins before our reservation). We were told our table wasn’t ready, but it was as obvious that it was. I wouldn’t have minded waiting to be served while sitting at our table but they decided to make us wait outside. I wasn’t very happy with this situation… but once we were seated (20 mins later) our experience complexly flipped and I was extremely impressed with everything about this place. What makes Tatemó so special is its devotion to maize — not just as an ingredient, but as culture, history, technique, and storytelling. Chef Emmanuel Chavez builds the tasting menu around heirloom corn sourced from different regions of Mexico, transforming masa into dishes that feel both deeply traditional and wildly inventive. Chef Emmanuel made it a point to stop by our table and wish me a happy birthday, and talk to us about his vision behind the restaurant. With just 7 tables serving no more than 20 guests at any given time, the experience is intimate and very simple. Every course felt intentional. From delicate tostadas and quesadillas layered with huitlacoche and Oaxaca cheese, to the unforgettable mole negro served with a plantain tortilla, the menu showcased how versatile and elevated corn can truly become. Even the textures and colors of the tortillas changed throughout the experience depending on the dish and regional inspiration behind it. The beauty of Tatemó is that it manages to feel both intimate and ambitious at the same time — a tasting menu centered around something as humble as masa, elevated to Michelin-star artistry without losing its soul. Perfect birthday dinner, unforgettable food, and a reminder that some of the most extraordinary experiences are hidden in the most unexpected places.”
“Outstanding experience at Tatemó! Authentic Mexican flavors presented at a Michelin level. Each course was creative and delicious (only small miss was the wagyu, a bit overcooked). The tasting menu is $155 per person with prepaid online reservation, and worth every dollar. BYOB”
“Unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing fine dining experiences I’ve had. I expected a thoughtful, well-paced Michelin-level experience. Instead, the evening felt poorly executed and lacking in basic hospitality. Food wasn’t bad but nowhere near Michelin or fine dining. Service was good at the beginning but especially disappointing toward the end of the meal. Multiple courses were brought out before I had finished the previous one, and I was presented with the bill at the same time as dessert was served. Seriously? BYOB only that they don’t communicate properly and non-alcoholic beverages menu felt like they couldn’t care less. The level of care, attention, and pacing simply did not match the price point or expectations. Overall, deeply disappointing and not worth the cost. $300+ wasted.”
