The Duck & Avellino

“It was a little loud, with added live music, which made it hard to hear. The service was excellent. Servers are top notch. The food was delicious- my party had soup, Brussels sprouts, the chicken parm, the cod, the salmon, the special tenderloin, and a kids pasta. All of them were fabulous and huge portions. The only thing that wasn’t good was the poutine. I love poutine and have had it numerous ways. I actively disliked this one. Overall a great experience though.”

“Ah, ah, amazing food and service. Even though they got busy not long after opening, the service was still great. Their calamari was the best I've ever had although it was served w tarter sauce, which I thought was strange. It didn't need any sauce added to it though- so yum. The NE clam chowder was just as good w nice chunks of potatoes and meat. My burger had tomato jam & a whole slab of fried mozzarella- just wow. The buffalo chicken wrap, steak ceasar, and a chicken sandwich w fried pickles & bacon on it were all reported as very good.”

“The Duck is a wonderful restaurant located near Sturbridge, I found them through the local chowder competition I attended! We had a larger party of 9 and our server was swift and extremely knowledgeable, and expectionally accommodating. Although we booked reservations for the duck, we were able to sit in the lower portion of the restaurant due our grandparents not being able to use the stairs. We LOVED the gorgonzola bread as an app, the drinks were PHENOMENAL, and the atmosphere is one of kind. This is a very family friendly restaurant with lots of tasty options. I wasn't able to get a photo of every meal but I did manage to take a photo of the duck they served. It was tender and delicious. My grandfather absolutely loved the beans so much that our server gave him the recipe from the chef! if you are looking for a local place to host a family dinner, I would definitely recommend!”

“We love the Duck, never disappoints. Our bartender was terrific, she attentive and made us some great cocktails. We had Calamari for starters and that was one of the best we have had in a while. I had their tavern berger cooked to perfection with onion strings and those were a guilty pleasure. My wife had the ceasar wrap with chicken which she enjoyed along with her fries. We shall return.”

“4/9/2026 Megan i believe you was the one who brought me the main course. You did see me there waiting for ever and being ignored. And for you to not ask if I was being served or needed anything does not help what happened on your watch while you was there seeing me. I made eye contact with you many times. As far as expectations I went to your restaurant knowing it was going to be busy it was a holiday. But I did not think I was gonna have to beg for a order and it take two hours to get food and leave. I did email you to follow up at your convenience 4/5/2026 went there for Easter dinner bye my self. Sat at the bar and told the bar tender I was only there for the easter meal. It was a four course meal for Easter There was only a few people sitting at the bar and I had to keep asking him for what I ordered it seemed like he was only interested in serving people alcohol than getting food orders. At one point I wanted more water lucky the waitress left the water jug on the table next to me so I was able to get up and get it myself I seen people that came in groups come in after me and got there meal and left before I even got my main course. Finally finished the main course and the bartender brings me the bill I said doesn't this come with a desert ? So on top of it he tried ripping me off. My advice is stay away from the DUCK if your bye your self on the holidays find somewhere else to go dont waist your time or energy on this place”
