Armsby Abbey is an American restaurant in the Worcester neighborhood of Worcester.
“Excellent food and service! Food was locally sourced and was absolutely delicious. The drink menu is unique, spectacular, and has options for everyone. Prices are a bit higher than the average in the area but it is worth it as you will be eating quality food with quality ingredients. Servers were friendly and professional, providing expedient service and recommendations when asked. Located in downtown Worcester, this is the perfect location to grab some food and drink before (or after) going out. The restaurant is a bit small, but not too small where you are on top of the people next to you. Can get pretty busy at peak times so reserve a table if you want to be sure you will get seating.”
“Went for a solo dinner while in town for work. Sat at the bar - bartenders were great. Had a delicious Boulevardier off the seasonal cocktails menu and the muhamarra sandwich. I have never heard of it but it was awesome! I will definitely be back to order more off the menu!”
“Our server was so wonderful, drinks were out quickly and both my and my friends allergy questions were answered. The food was clearly made with care, the portion sizes were perfect to share. We expected it to be busy [show that night @ the palladium] but the wait for food wasn't crazy”
“This a quaint little place . It sounded like you can make reservations but we were walk in on a Tuesday night. It was busy enough that the only seating left was side by Side at a community table. Menu has many options without being overwhelming. Some of the sauces are lacking a little flavor, and I was a little disappointed by the size of the double patty burger but over all it was good food. The prices made sense and the portions were pretty close to what I’d expect. This is a great spot for date night, meeting family or friends. I wouldn’t recommend for children though. Staff was friendly and mostly attentive. We did have to wait about 45m to 1hr for our food and the waitress took about 40 min to tell us it would be a few more minutes that ended up being about 10 more minutes. I might consider visiting again during a less busy time.”
“We visited on a Saturday night with a reservation for 7PM. We’ve been to Armsby many times for Brunch but never for dinner. I’m not sure if we caught them on a bad night, but our experience was disappointing. We were seated in a booth near the windows at the front of the restaurant and it was absolutely freezing. We asked to be moved but they were not able to due to how busy it was. We decided to tough it out but ended up regretting it. We had to keep our heavy winter coats on for the whole meal and every time the front door opened a chilling breeze would pass over us. If you go here during cold weather make sure they seat you in the back. It was also a bad sign when the server checked to make sure we DIDN’T have the specials menu, presumably because they were already sold out. Unfortunately this theme continued when we were told they were out of the flatbread only after we tried to order it. Next when our cheeseboard arrived the server informed us they had to change one of the cheeses due to running out. I also added the on-menu option of jalapeños to my sandwich but when it arrived the server said they were actually out of those as well. Between no specials and 3 separate instances of missing items it was not a great ordering experience. Our server was still good given the situation and was mostly there whenever we needed them. We ate quickly and skipped dessert due to freezing our butts off. Drinks: Starry Night: 5/5 very tasty and great presentation! Cabin Fever: 3/5 nothing wrong with it, was just “fine” Food: Northeast Cheese Trio: 4/5, despite the substitution after we ordered everything was good! Handmade Pasta: 4/5, only complaint was they went a little crazy with the black pepper. It was A LOT of black pepper. Southern Style Fried Chicken Sandwich: 3/5, “fine”. The texture and flavor of the breading was awesome and crispy, but the chicken itself was under-seasoned and had no flavor. I definitely missed the jalapeños for an added kick.”
