“We arrived around 8:15am on a Saturday before the morning crowd started coming in. It was nice and relatively quiet until ~8:45am before it started getting a little louder (You can still have conversations after 8:45/9am but you just have to speak a little louder). The food was amazing! We went halfsies on the food so we could both try the 2 items we ordered. The kitchen was kind enough to split the food for us so we wouldn't have to cut and split food at the table. The savory crepe was extremely flavorful but light at the same time. The buttermilk pancake was crisp on the outside and soft (a little like a mochi donut's texture) on the inside - absolutely delicious! Having half of each was the perfect portion.”
“Back in the Twin Cities for a wedding and my husband found this gem! As fellow husband-wife small business owners, we love seeing the passion and care that goes into a place like The French Hen. The Creole Market Hash with homemade turkey sausage was my favorite, and my southern husband was seriously impressed by the Poutine. So good we came back twice in two days. A true Twin Cities treasure—we’ll be back whenever we’re home!”
“Meg is a great server! She had a full dining room during the busy lunch hour and handled all of the tables with charm, attention, and speed. The asparagus cream soup was okay, probably would have preferred it a bit warmer but it had a nice lemony flavor. The herb salad was fantastic. Would definitely recommend. There was a bit too much dressing, but I think that's standard in restaurants. The raspberry streusel muffin was so crumbly and moist and good.”
“The customer service is top tier. However, we we're a party of 10+ so it was hard for them to accommodate us due to the lack of space. Understandable though. I had the Catfish Benedict. It was decent. Needed a little more flavor but overall, fairly decent. All in all, I'd visit again.”
“Came to try Moonflower Pizza! Made a reservation for a Saturday night and it was not needed. Only two other tables occupied when we got there around 6. The person that served us was awesome and very friendly! We were able to get happy hour apps and we tried the wings and the mini antipasti. My husband liked the wings, but wished there was more sauce. He said they were cooked well, but needed more flavor and more sauce would have helped. I loved the mini antipasti. The bread was delicious especially with the fig jam and fresh mozzarella. I didn’t care for the pickled peppers, but my husband liked them. We split a margherrita pizza and it was pretty good! Not the best I’ve had, but definitely far from the worst! For dessert we tried the lemon ice and the vanilla gelato. The lemon ice was way too sour for me, but my husband liked it. He said it did have a strange bitter aftertaste though. I didn’t care for the gelato. The texture was odd and it left a weird waxy texture in my mouth and there were globs of I think milk fat in my mouth after eating it. Not pleasant.”
