The Golden Mill

“We discovered Golden Mill by happy accident on our way to an off-road Jeep tour and it turned out to be the perfect pit stop. Our group of three couples had different tastes in food and drink, but this place had something for everyone. The vibe is hip and laid-back, with gorgeous views of the creek and tubers floating by. Parking is just a short walk across the bridge, though as out-of-towners we circled the block a few times before figuring it out, so plan ahead! We got to chat with one of the owners, who shared a bit of the building’s history, which added a really nice personal touch. A genuinely cool spot, right in the heart of Golden, steps from Coors Brewing.”

“It’s an awesome place to hang out. We ordered from Republik of Chicken & Sushi Sora. Republik of Chicken staff were not knowledgeable regarding their ingredients, what gluten is, what their fries are coated in. This is unacceptable. All staff should be trained on ingredients within their menu and allergen info. When I inquired if their French fries are coated in wheat flour, they did not know, and the woman at the counter asked me if I wanted her look at the bag to find out, which she clearly didn’t want to have to do, but really all staff should already be aware of ingredients in their menu. She claimed their french fries are coated in wheat flour, so those gluten intolerant cannot order them. The sweet potato fries (which they also had to look at when I inquired) do not contain wheat flour. Sushi Sora has a gluten free menu and staff there were knowledgeable regarding allergens. The sushi was very good, although a bit overpriced, but that’s the case with every food hall. The poke bowl was a great portion and delicious too.”

“Fun experience to do self service drinks and food options are nice! I didn’t like the mandatory 18% service fee while you all self service process. Location and atmospheric is fun. Hip vibe with a twist!”

“Went here after walking the Peaks to Plains Trail. Very busy but it was a Saturday and the weather was nice. A lot of people tubing. I got the Kaarage Chiken sandwich with fries. I've never had a sandwich made with chicken thighs but I like them and it was good. This is all self service and you pour your own drinks using the card you get when you enter. An 18% gratuity is added to all tabs to pay for the kitchen staff and cleaning people. A novel place but certainly more geared for tourists. It was good but not great.”
