Nanaimo’s casual fine dining experience
“One of the best dining experiences I have had in a while! Adam and another waiter who served us were superb! They were super accommodating to us even though we were running late, they did not rush us and helped us celebrate a birthday as a family. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh and the dessert was to die for! Highly recommend for a great dining experience!!”
“We had an amazing experience The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking ocean views that make the whole dining experience feel special and relaxing. The food was delicious and well-prepared, with great portion sizes and The staff were also incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made the experience even better. It’s the perfect place whether you want a peaceful meal, a special occasion, or just to enjoy the view. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Nanaimo!”
“We had dinner here tonight and the food was phenomenal! The flavours were so delectable and the visual was porn for the eyes. It costs a bit more but worth every penny. Melissa was our server and she was great, very personable and lovely to speak with. I can’t wait to go back.”
“Came here for my fiancee's birthday. Let me start with WOW! It was our first time here and we are completely blown away. The food was OUTSTANDING. Appy 1: The muscles & clam appetizer at a cost of $21 was a very generous size. It was all fresh and made in a white wine sauce. The muscles and clams had great flavour and were not fishy at all (forgot to take a photo because we were so hungry and ate it so fast lol). Appy 2: East Meets West Calamari at a cost of $17. This was probably the best calamari I have had. They marinate the squid for 12 hours and this made it so tender and flavourful. It wasn't squishy, rubbery or any of that nonsense. Absolutely lovely(forgot to take a photo because we were so hungry and ate it so fast lol). My fiancee has several food allergies. Allergic to gluten, dairy, eggs and anaphylactic to mushrooms. They did an outstanding job and making sure it was safe for her. She had the "Lingcod Oscar" at a cost of $36. This was packed with flavour and was a generous portion. She loved it and had enough to bring home for a lunch the next day. Her mom got the "Tagliatelle Neptune". This was by far the best dish of the evening. This dish was so rich and flavourful loaded with 3 pan-seared Hokkaido scallops (each the size of 12 toonies pressed together - couldn't think of a better comparison lol), Humboldt squid, and jumbo Argentinian prawns. This was a HUGE bowl with all the fixings. We all 110% recommend this one and I will be back for this one. Her dad got "The View Seafood Flambé" which is made tableside at a cost of $33. It was absolutely delicious. The scallops were HUGE and had amazing flavour. I had the "Albacore Tuna & Prawns" at a cost of $29. I love tuna and prawns and this was all ontop of a spicy coleslaw and quinoa mountain. The tuna was fresh and had a beautiful sesame seed crust which was then topped with 8 tiger prawns. I would for sure have this dish again! Our server Harry was an absolute pleasure to have. He was quirky, funny and witty which made the experience that much better. If you want an amazing seafood dinner I 1000% recommend you come here.”
“We had an amazing experience at The View. Service was impeccable and our waiter made our experience fun. They were accommodating when we asked to be moved to another table and then sat us at the window with a view of the harbour at night. We ordered the Seafood platter and the crab and lobster platter and both were phenomenal! Honestly, it was one of the best seafood platters I've ever had. We went for a birthday celebration and their complimentary desert came with a lit candle. Our waiter was observant and paid special attention to every dinner her was serving. The atmosphere was intimate but there was lots of light and space. I really like to be able to see my food and don't dine in dark establishments.”
