“Traveling for work it's easy to forget the joy of an incredible meal that pleases all the senses. The Magpie was a short jaunt off the Riverwalk and just incredible.”
“One of my favorite places in San Antonio. I love hole-in-the-wall ish restaurants with amazing food and this is one of them. To be honest, I’m always so excited to eat that I forget to grab photos but my recommendation is always to get the milk bread as an appetizer it is just the perfect size. This time, we ordered the smoked duck and it was perfect with the right amount of chew. The sweet potato chip is interesting? Everytime that i’ve been here I always order the pork belly ssam and the dak galbi. Both are a bit spicy, especially the dak galbi, and both would be perfect with rice. The ssam pork belly is stellar and something that I can just keep eating. We asked for a side of fries to complete the carb, which just speaks to the excellent service. The only photo I was able to achieve was the butter cake. Unassuming, but maybe one of the best things on the menu. It was gone in seconds. Definitely reserve.”
“Korean fusion small plates spot. Beet salad with curly endive, tofu browned with sesame oil and sesame seed coating, and the half chicken with slightly spicy gochujang sauce - very savory. Dessert was a dense chocolate mousse and white Port. Interior black with fun pink light fixtures. Our server, Sama'ah was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. First time here. Great spot if you are heading to an evening at the Carver.”
“We made last minute reservations for 3 people and had a very delicious meal. The menu is seasonal and changes often. We basically tried the whole menu (minus three dishes). Great value for the food, great place to share plates!”
“We started with the bread and we loved it. Me and my son don't usually don't like bread, but this was an exception. The broccolini was just as good with it tasting like spicy and lemony vegetables, also they were perfectly seasoned. The pork and the ribs were great too. The pork had a sauce that was sweet but not too sweet. The ribs were medium rare and had peppers that were very spicy. Overall, the food was amazing, but it does have a smokey atmosphere at times because of the food being made. I overall loved this place and I hope you come eat at this place as well.”
