At the Privateer, we take the ultimate care and pride in each of our menu items. Our gourmet appetizers, salads, soups, specialty dishes, pizza pies and desserts are made from scratch using the freshest ingredients. We are a local family-owned restaurant touting the largest 100% coal fire oven in Southern California. All the while serving up cold craft beers and the largest selection of wines in North County. We are not your ordinary, cookie-cutter pizza restaurant. We create an imaginative menu of delicious lunch and dinner items in a relaxed, organic dining setting nobody else has in San Diego. Adding in Comedy Tuesdays, Wine Pairing Dinners, Vintner Tasting, and more. We do not accept reservations for comedy night. Seating is subject to availability, although we try our best we cannot promise any one party a specific section or dining room in the restaurant. For parties of 18 or more please contact info@theprivateercoalfirepizza.com. We will not except a double booking of 18 under separate names for the same party through TOCK.
“Incredible meal. Our server Chelsea was the best, and the rest of the staff. Family with food allergies and they provided so many options, and the pizza was delicious. All around great hospitality.”
“Nice pizza place surprise tucked in Carlsbad. They do have other menu options. Stopped by on our way to Legoland. Pizza was so delicious, thin, toasty without being hard, and great flavors in both the white pizza and the regular pepperoni pizza hit the spot. The Caesar salad had a nice authentic light flavor, not too exaggerated. The Brussels sprouts appetizer is a must!!!! So good its the right blend of tart, sweet and crunch with the toasted almonds- so good. Definitely a spot to visit.”
“The Privateer is the bomb. Oceanside’s got more than its fair share of great restaurants and wild little corners, the kind of spots that feel alive even when the air feels a little dangerous, and honestly, feeling safe is overrated. This town was built by Marines, gangbangers, surfers, skaters, lifers, and now a wave of trust-fund babies rolling in with their kombucha and big ideas. But Privateer still has the soul of the old city baked right into the walls. The pizza slaps, the salads are legit, the sandwiches are stacked, the beer list makes sense, and the vibe is pure Oceanside, unpolished, unpretentious, and proud of it. Love this place!”
“This is a fun restaurant to come to with a really good menu. We were made to wait even though there seemed to be a bunch of open tables. The pizza was excellent particularly the sauce. It was very interesting to have a coal burning stove. We had an appetizer of Brussel sprouts and they were pretty good.”
“Service wasn’t bad but food was pretty mid for the prices. Place didn’t really have anything special to it to make it feel worth the price either. Glad I was able to try it but definitely would rather go to other pizza places that are around. I also thought the plates they used were kinda funny because I have the same ones at home that I bought from dollar tree 😂”
