“Wonderful experience by out host Kathy! I’m a wine educator in Sonoma and I came to try their iconic Gap’s Crown wines and they were delicious. Very cool winery as well, a must see while in Sonoma.”
“An oasis of calm in Sonoma. This exquisite winery contains it all: history, peaceful setting, and outstanding wines! Once you pass through the entryway, you know you’ve reached a special place. We have been club members for years and yesterday, we were treated to a fascinating discussion with Linda, who filled in even more background and stories than we thought we knew before. We didn’t want to leave. This place is a treat to impress out-of-town friends!”
“Three Sticks begins with weight - the 1842 Vallejo-Casteñada Adobe, built by Salvador Vallejo, still standing just off the Plaza, as if quietly reminding newer buildings who arrived first. Inside, the tone shifts. The interiors by Ken Fulk lean into a composed abundance - layered antiques, textured fabrics, and details that feel collected over time rather than arranged all at once. Turtle shells on the wall. Deep-set tiles with a past life, more admired than questioned. It walks a careful line between curation and declaration, and manages to stay just on the right side of both. Quietly extravagant, but self-aware. The tasting itself is structured and thoughtful, centred on estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, each with a clear sense of place. The name “Three Sticks” officially refers to vineyard stakes - the quiet architecture of growing vines - though, as one story goes, it may also nod to owner Bill Price, a “III,” whose three strokes at the end of a name became something worth keeping. Linda guides the experience with confidence and clear depth of knowledge - attentive, engaging, and generous with insight into both the wines and the property, allowing the visit to unfold with a natural, unforced rhythm. It’s not a casual stop. It’s a composed experience - part history, part theatre, and just indulgent enough to remind you that Sonoma still knows how to make an impression without trying too hard. Arranged through North Bay Wine Tours, the visit arrives with the right sense of occasion. Tastings at Three Sticks Wines are by appointment - less “let’s just stop by” and more “we had a plan, and it was a good one.””
“Three Sticks Wines is an absolute favorite of mine. I truly love their wines. Every visit feels special because I always feel welcomed the moment I arrive. The service is excellent, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, which makes the experience even better. You can really feel the care and passion they put into both their wines and their guests. Highly recommend to anyone looking for outstanding wine and an exceptional tasting experience.”
“Our first time to the area, we spent a day in Napa and were recommended to Three Sticks in Sonoma. WOW! I am so pleased we to-ok the time to visit both Napa and Sonoma. Sonoma is definitely where my particular tastes lie. We had a magical experiencde at The Adobe, with Kathy as our lovely guide. We sampled some truly delicious wine, had a wonderful recommendation for where we wanted to eat lunch; had a wonderful experience walking to Vella cheese to buy some delicious cheese we had sampled at Three Sticks and then had a perfect recommendation to another great winery. All of this thanks to Kathy and her knowledge. It was a beautiful setting, delicious wine and so much knowledge. The Adobe has been crafted and decorated so well- there is no way one could not enjoy their time at Three Sticks. I am so pleased to have been introduced. Cannot wait until my next visit back; taking some bottles east until that day.”
