“Went on a Sunday night around 9:30 the place was definitely pretty empty, but we had a great time. The music was great and the bartender made my Skinny Margarita perf. What more could a girl ask for? Won a couple rounds of connect 4 and Jenga! Will be back.”
“Best part is the ambiance. Large, so you don’t feel cramped, but HOT. If you come in with a jacket on, be prepared to take it off. They also have an outdoor area/bar with fire pits which is pretty cozy. I got the tropical lemonade, which was equal parts alcohol and sugary syrup/ingredients. It was DELICIOUS, I just can’t help feeling like I consumed 1,500 calories with that $20 (with tip) drink. 9/10 taste, 7/10 value They have beer pong, connect 4, axe throwing, and more. You may have to fight for your spot for the games, as there are so many people that there is essentially always someone occupying the game, playing for however long. The wings and pizza (that I didn’t order) came out in 6 minutes- curious if it was just a microwave type thing, but it looked good nonetheless. Negative feedback on the churros (from a friend.) Good group friend move or date night spot, tasty drinks, reasonable parking.”
“I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Throw Social for the Renaissance Orchestra event. First, I specifically paid extra for seating up front by the stage. After everyone was seated, staff began allowing additional people into the “reserved” area to stand directly in front of those of us who had paid for seats. What was the point of purchasing premium seating if it wasn’t respected or enforced? The event was advertised to start at 8:00 PM. The orchestra did not begin until 9:30 PM. Instead, we endured 2.5 hours of a DJ blasting music at an excessive volume — so loud that I couldn’t hear properly for days afterward. I’ve owned a club before, so I understand sound levels and crowd management. This was beyond reasonable. To make matters worse, the band was openly smoking weed on stage throughout the performance. The promoter was also passing bottles around to certain women in the crowd. Within the first hour alone, three people were down on the floor requiring medical attention. It felt chaotic and poorly controlled. And let’s not forget the $25 drinks — which might be tolerable if the experience matched the price point. It absolutely did not. The entire event was incredibly disorganized and unprofessional from start to finish. Between the delayed start, lack of crowd control, safety concerns, excessive noise levels, and premium seating not being honored, this was one of the worst-run events I’ve attended. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this venue to others..”
“Arrived to the venue.. I went to the front and want red order food to go around 10:30pm.. the young lady in the front said she was going to go in the back and make sure I get my food as apparently that was the exact time the kitchen closes… the girl went to the back and never came back at all.. I stood there for 20 full minutes before another girl came to tell me the original girl went home and never checked. Ridiculous… as a nightlife bartender I’ve never heard of such treatment. I won’t be back”
“3 out of 5 stars Celebrated a birthday at Throw Social DC with a VIP Interior Cabana. The vibe and music were great, but the service didn’t match the price point. We spent over $700 (before tax) for 7 guests, yet had to flag down staff to hit the food/drink minimum. Final bill confusion felt unprofessional after we clearly paid in full. The atmosphere is solid, but I wouldn’t return for a VIP experience unless the service improves.”
