“This place is consistently ranked as one of the best rooftops in DC and after one visit we get it completely. We booked around 6pm so we could take our time with drinks and appetizers before sunset and that timing was perfect. The rooftop was buzzing, packed with energy, the kind of place where you actually feel like you’re somewhere. Definitely not a spot to show up without a reservation, especially during cherry blossom season. The view is honestly hard to overhype. The Washington Monument is directly in front of you, the White House off to the right, and once the sky starts changing colors the whole city looks unreal. It is one of those places where the view alone could carry the experience, but the food was incredible too. Every dish surprised us in a good way, more layered and thoughtful than expected. The Yellowfin Tuna Crudo was fresh and clean. The Coastal Fritto with shrimp and calamari and Calabrian chili mayo was perfectly fried and addictive. The Crispy Branzino came out with crackling skin in a light citrusy broth and was really well done. The standout was the 48 Hour Smoked Short Rib. Deep flavor, fork tender, and everything on the plate worked together. Easily the best dish of the night. Dessert is not optional here. The VXB Chocolate Bar is decadent and full of rich textures. Cocktails are a strong point too. We both got the Power to the Peaches and it is easy to see why it is a staple. Light, refreshing, and works with everything. Start there. Service matched the setting. We were greeted right away and given a table with a perfect view. Multiple staff checked in throughout the night and every recommendation we followed landed. Overall this is one of those rare spots where the vibe and the food both justify the hype. Come for the view, enjoy the food, and stay for the vibe.”
“From the moment you walk through the door, VUE is doing something right. The floral arch at the entrance alone stopped me in my tracks a massive hot pink and orange blooms cascading floor to ceiling. It sets the tone immediately: this place is intentional about its aesthetic and it shows. The interior does not disappoint. The living flower wall with the neon VUE logo, the moody dark walls, the arched doorways, the ginkgo leaf metal wall art, every corner is a take my picture moment. The bar area ceiling is draped in cherry blossoms this time of year? Genuinely stunning. The “Sky’s the Limit at VUE” neon installation with the dark botanical backdrop hit differently dramatic, immersive, and very DC energy. The yogurt bowl with fresh berries, granola, and honey was beautiful and actually delicious. Presentation was on point, served gold bowl that fit the whole aesthetic perfectly. VUE understands the assignment. Great for brunch, date night, or honestly just to walk through and feel like you’re somewhere special. A true DC hidden gem. 🌸”
“You’re really paying for the view here! Drinks and food are pretty pricey! The bar service is overall quick and pretty helpful. But ultimately, I recommend getting the truffle fries as they’re super super good”
“We enjoyed the view at Vue Rooftop. The food was good which included the parmesan fries, crab cakes, home made bread and chicken. Portions were small for the price but quality was excellent. Be prepared, they tack on a mandatory 20% service charge. Seemed like a great place for a drink but compared to some of the other restaurants we went I'd prefer to eat elsewhere.”
“I believe the Vue is one of the best rooftops to catch a glimpse of the White House. I made reservations about 2 months ago. When our party of 4 arrived, the host took us to the rear area of the restaurant. It was extremely noisy, however much cooler than the main dining area. We asked if we could please be sat in main area as this was my friends first time and we had looked forward to sharing the experience with them. She then let us know that because of the weather it was not as cool and was much warmer. We didn't mind so they went ahead and changed it. Considering I had made reservations it would have been nice to have been sat at a table as closest to the open window. Not sure if this is something you must request when making reservation but it seemed all the tables were marked reserved. That would be my tip when making reservations to ask for a table where you are sitting right at the window. I preferred the shrimp cocktail ($26) it was very refreshing. The shrimp were big and the dipping sauce was delicious. My friend ordered the steak and Buratta salad ($50), She enjoyed it. Our husbands ordered the crab cake ($48) and they said they were very good. We ordered drinks. Moscow mules and gin and tonics which were doubles, and the Witness tampered. If you don't have a budget then enjoy your time there. I believe most places in DC are pricey. My opinion is we had drinks with small plates and I have added the total. Also we only had 4 in our party and the receipt says we had 6, which allowed them to force the tip on bill. Our gratuity was put on there by server so we didn't add to it. Not sure why this was like that.”
