“The staff are superior to any place around here...Bailey, Sophia, Sarah, Rachel, Issaac, Drew..Miguel you ve done well ! I'm not even mentioning the food yet..they have a great selection of beer , liquor, wine... I brought a bunch of people here after showing up on my own and being welcomed... everyone ve brought in has been impressed it means a lot people take the time to get to know you can recommend you good food, it's a good atmosphere. It's just a different vibe vs places right around the corner. And by the way the filet mignon and ribeye are out of this world. I don't know what to do with those grits but they're excellent...pork chop----mmmmmmm.”

This location was equally as impressive in location, staff, cuisine, and ambiance. We even had the unexpected blessing of meeting the founder, Miguel, who is an incredible man with an incredible story. His heart for people and connecting with them is beautiful and his passion for the business and his purpose truly fuel his phenomenal work ethic, business acumen, and character. “First time visit. Great experience. Both food and service were on mark. Billy our food server was awsome. Great personality, super menu knowledge (something lost in most restaurants today) attentive to our needs but not overbearing. The menu is fun with many intriguing items. Food was great ordering seared scallops, fried green tomatoes, mushroom grits with blackened shrimp and a bowl of gumbo. The gumbo was very flavorful, filled with sausage. Fried green tomatoes were a delight with the touch of pimento cheese was quite the compliment to the dish. Mushroom grits were creamy delicious. Cold draft beers. Great job all together.”

This is one of those places that reminds you why brunch exists in the first place — great food, relaxed vibe, and service that actually gives a damn. The food was outstanding across the board. Everything came out fresh, hot, and clearly made with intention — not rushed, not slapped together, and definitely not “brunch by assembly line.” Portions were solid without being ridiculous, and the flavors were dialed in the way you hope they’ll be when you order brunch somewhere that knows what it’s doing. But let’s talk about the service, because that’s where 1885 really separates itself. The staff was friendly, attentive, and on point without hovering or disappearing. Orders were spot-on, refills were handled before you had to ask, and the overall energy was welcoming instead of forced. You could tell they actually care about the experience, not just turning tables. Atmosphere was comfortable and polished — upscale enough to feel like a treat, but laid-back enough that you don’t feel like you’re breaking rules by enjoying yourself. Bottom line: 1885 Grill’s brunch is the real deal. Excellent food, excellent service, and an experience that makes you want to come back — not because you’re bored, but because they earned it. “There's 2 bars - upstairs and downstairs - as well as table seating. I had the pepperminti - delicious. My husband had the "Almost like Tito's" martini and said it was good. I had the blackened shrimp plate - very good. The hushpuppies were good. I wasn't a fan of the coleslaw. My husband had the shrimp and grits. The grits come either as creamy or as a cake or you can do 1/2 and 1/2. He chose to try both and said the cake edged out the creamy grits by a small margin. He, also, tried the wings. He said the wings were ok. They only have 1 sauce for the wings.”
