“10/10! Excellent Fillipino tasting menu, which paired perfectly with the Pacific north west wines. Yes this place is expensive, but the staff are extremely accommodating to ensure that you have the best possible experience. Unlike other tasting menus, there is one course where you are offered extra portions to ensure that you do not leave hungry. The flavors or fantastic with the banana ketchup, being a standout. Definitely I must do if you’re in Seattle and enjoy tasting menus. The restaurant itself is very relaxed, casual without feeling pretentious.”
“A truly special dining experience, with creative, experimental dishes thoughtfully paired with storytelling. My husband and I loved the stories and the attentiveness of the servers and chefs, though it was occasionally a bit hard to hear. The food was spectacular, and with the locally sourced wine pairings, dinner for two comes to around $1000.”
“Probably my favorite restaurant in Seattle. Everything is delicious, intentional, and precise. The combinations of flavors make perfect sense but you'd never think of them on your own. The creativity of the whole team is on display every time I visit. It's incredibly intimate, so you'll get to know all the chefs and servers well by the end of the meal. Perhaps my favorite part of the meal is when the staff asks us to rate our hunger on a scale of 1 to 5, adjusting the portion size of the final savory course accordingly to ensure we aren't overly full for dessert. And even if you get your number a little wrong, they'll come back through with seconds or thirds to make sure you don't leave hungry. If you aren't into alcohol, I'd highly recommend the juice pairing! Truly one of the best dining experiences of my life! I can't recommend it highly enough.”
“The Archipelago experience includes elevated Pinoy cuisine with expert storytelling. The most memorable part of the meal for me was the service. The noodle and some of the vegetable side dishes were great. Everything else was okay. They offer an interesting collection of Pacific NW wines as well.”
“Short summary: Great service, nice atmosphere, and a clear attention to detail — but at $350 per person, the food didn’t come close to earning that price tag. We left underwhelmed. Overall experience: At $700 for two people, expectations are naturally high. While the experience was organized and professional, I kept waiting for a dish that would truly stand out. That moment never came. Food: Across the meal, flavors felt muted. Individually, components tasted fine — sauces were balanced, ingredients were properly cooked — but together they never built into anything memorable. Every course felt “okay,” but never beyond that. For example, one dish featured geoduck served with pasta-like noodles over charcoal. I was looking forward to the texture and sweetness of the geoduck being highlighted. Instead, there were four small half-inch cubes that blended into the background. It felt like the geoduck could have been removed without changing the dish in any meaningful way. Portion sizes throughout were minimal. I don’t equate fine dining with large portions, but the limited quantity left little room to explore flavors or create contrast across the progression of dishes. A scallop dish for example just had a few paper thin scallop slices. Service: The service was great. The staff members were very attentive throughout the experience. Before each dish, a story about Filipino history was shared. While the stories were thoughtfully presented, they did not always feel clearly connected to the food itself. At times, the narrative felt forced… but that wasn’t a big deal to us. Bottom line, I would recommend Archipelago to guests who value an intimate fine dining atmosphere, attentive service, and storytelling as part of the experience — especially if budget is not a primary concern. However, if your main focus is bold flavors, standout ingredients, and a food-first experience that justifies a $350 price point, you may leave disappointed.”
