“We recently visited this wonderful Nepali and Indian restaurant with a group of friends for dinner, and our experience was truly exceptional from start to finish. The first thing that impressed us was the warm welcome and excellent customer service. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel comfortable throughout our visit. Their hospitality created a welcoming atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home. As Nepali food lovers, we especially enjoyed the momos, which were absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor. They reminded us of the traditional taste we enjoy back home. Along with the momos, every dish we ordered was freshly prepared, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Each item reflected the rich culinary traditions of both Nepal and India. The restaurant has a peaceful and relaxing environment, making it an ideal place for family gatherings, dinners with friends, or even a quiet meal. What stood out the most was how the food made us feel connected to home, bringing back memories through its authentic taste and quality. We were delighted to find such a wide variety of Nepali and Indian dishes under one roof. From the quality of the food to the excellent service and pleasant ambiance, everything exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this restaurant to all Nepali and Indian food lovers, as well as anyone looking to experience authentic South Asian cuisine. It is definitely a place worth visiting, and we look forward to coming back again soon.”
“My favourite restaurant in Cardiff! I love Base Camp; every meal I’ve had there has been fresh and delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and has lovely views of the museum. The wheelchair access is excellent, especially for a period building, with a ramped entrance and an accessible toilet. The table height is also great for wheelchair users, with clear leg space underneath. I’d highly recommend the Coastal Coconut Curry; I have to order it every time! The staff have always been really kind and super friendly.”
“I just had what is almost certainly the best curry in my nearly 58 years of existence. The Punjabi dhada murgh with truffle and cheese naan. It was sensational and I am truly grateful to this restaurant that I found by chance (I was in the area and Googled Indian restaurants nearby). The starter of trio of chicken tikka was pretty special too. Highly recommended”
“I held a family dinner party at my home for my daughters 30th The service was impeccable Ram the manager arrived with a portable oven and our 4 course set menu dinners His generosity was beyond with extras of naan , daal , slop gobi , poppadoms … and signature chocolate Samasos !! You can see from the few picture how well my loved dined while we celebrated a wonderful evening That’s an Unreserved recommendation from me Dr Uroosa Kabeer”
“Had a wonderful evening at the Base Camp. We tried their vegan tasting menu and can highly recommend it. The starter plate was one of the best plates of food I’ve had. When we explained that we are vegetarians we got offered to add paneer to our menu - great service! Momma (I think) was my favourite thing to eat that night. I was full before the mains - we had 4 curries which were very very good but not mind blowing. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish the desert but we had 4 different options that night and I tried a bit of everything and it was perfect. Great atmosphere, nicely decorated, lovely staff. Thanks a lot to all the team. I think there is potential to become a destination restaurant in future.”
