Billie's Grocery is a new restaurant concept near Union Hill in Midtown Kansas City, Missouri. Designed by Unbakery Owner, former Filling Station Owner and Nutritional Therapist Practitioner Robin Krause, Billie's Grocery will bring mostly organic, nutrient-dense whole eats and treats to the community's ever-growing health food scene. With California inspired dishes and Australian inspired cocktails and mocktails, Billie's menu offerings are made to make you feel good. So, whether you're grabbing a post work out smoothie or a six-pack (of abs), coming for a little brew (haha) with friends or enjoying a happy hour outing with your (gluten-free) love, Billie's has something for everyone.
“As someone who was recently told I need to eat gluten-free, dining out has felt a little overwhelming. Many gluten-free options I’ve tried elsewhere have been dense, doughy, or simply lacking in flavor, so I’ve been nervous about finding places where I could actually enjoy a meal. I visited Bill’s Grocery yesterday, and it was the first place that made me feel like I wasn’t going to starve on this new journey. 😊 The setup is casual rather than traditional table service. You place your order at the counter, find a seat, and the staff brings your food to you. The process was simple and relaxed. What really impressed me was the variety of gluten-free options available. Instead of feeling limited to one or two choices, I had plenty to choose from, and everything I tried was flavorful and satisfying. And the desserts? Absolutely worth saving room for. They were delicious and made me forget I was eating gluten-free at all. If you’re gluten-free and struggling to find places that offer both variety and great taste, Bill’s Grocery is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back. 🌟 Highly recommended.”
“Such a neat spot with amazing food and great drinks! Don’t let the line scare you, they are quick and efficient! Everything is great here! Parking is a bit of a pain but worth it!”
“I got a lemon tart, orange dream bar, black mango tea and the miso salmon burger. First time here. Won't be the last. Very clean and modern. Great customer service. They do tap to pay.”
“As first-time visitors, we were immediately impressed, thanks in large part to Andrew, whose warm hospitality set the tone for our entire visit. They offered a quick, helpful rundown of the ordering process, shared thoughtful recommendations across both the breakfast and bakery menus, and delivered the kind of personable, attentive service that makes a strong first impression. The menu itself is clearly crafted with care, offering an appealing balance of sweet and savory options for any kind of morning appetite. We began with an almond milk latte and a shared strawberry Boujee Poptart, a playful name for a pastry that delivers on flavor. The Turkish Eggs with Grilled Halloumi were a standout: beautifully plated, with flavors that were harmonious and well-executed. My partner ordered the Brekki and found the bread surprisingly delicious, especially notable since he typically doesn’t seek out gluten-free options. We couldn’t resist picking up some cinnamon donut holes and a carrot cake cupcake to take home as well. Even small details were well-maintained; the shared restroom space was clean and orderly, reflecting the overall care put into the guest experience.”
“You have to go up to the counter to order and I have garlic and onions allergies. I ordered everything with no onions no garlic and no seasoning. They took my order correctly but I was served eggs and steak with onions and all seasoning. Then they took it in back to remake. All my friends were finishing their food I got everything finally right but food was cold.Steak tasted like it was cooked where there was onions contamination so I couldn’t eat. I don’t think I’ll be back. I don’t know how was their desert it did look good but I don’t have any.”
