“Visited with a friend for the first time for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and lucky enough to get a seat by the window as we hadn’t made a reservation. We both ordered the Rancheroes (not sure on the spelling) after the waitress’ recommendation and it was amazing! Very filling and full of flavour. Wonderful spot for a coffee, food or glass wine. Friendly staff and customers.”
“Popped in for an impromptu breakfast, rather than taking in the usual hotel fayre. Really lovely coffee and sausage sandwiches, served by very friendly staff. Bread was very fresh. My two flat whites were perfect - no bitter aftertaste. Got seated inside, but they do have lovely outside areas.”
“Lovely place if you like sharing boards of meats and cheese. Great selection of both to pick from. Good selection of wines , plus if you fancy a lager there's Brooklyn and poretti on draft, both lovely. Well worth a visit. It is quite small so maybe it's best to book if you don't want to be disappointed. Visited again on Saturday. It was superb like the weather. Really busy with it being so nice, but the staff and food both remained lovely! Thanks very much”
“Somewhere a little bit different. Essentially meat and cheeses so don't go expecting a large meal. Good selection and very high quality. Booking advisable with a small number of seats, but ensures a fast friendly service. Take away coffee hatch available when posting buy too”
“I'm surprised that I've given it one star. It's not as if the location (which deserves 5 stars) is of their doing! I was taking a walk from Roker to Seaburn in the sunshine last Thursday. My intention was to round off my walk with a glass of wine and a couple of chapters at the Tram Stop. The staff or management had other ides!! Approximately 17.30 - 18.00. There were x2 ladies outside and x2 couples inside. I went to sit on the fitted seating, tables set up for dining. I was promptly ushered away because all tables (x6?) were reserved. All? And at the same time? Curious! Were they expecting a minibus to arrive and 2 dozen hungry customers to descend? I think not! I was told to sit at the other side of the restaurant. The other side in the shade, next to the door and the salubrious position next to the toilet! No comfy seat, just stools. I'm afraid, that your wine list is not so inviting to persuade me to sit so uncomfortably on a stool, beside a draft on the presumably busy thoroufare (when your minibus arrives) to the toilet!! I walked out. Won't be coming back. Would it have been so difficult or inconvenient to remove and later replace 1 or 2 table settings? It was a lovely evening, plenty of people out for a walk and you had x4 customers! Is this policy working for you? I'll be sticking with Elephant Rock in Roker!”
