Bob’s Steak & Chop House is ranked as one the top steakhouses in the county. USDA Prime Beef seasoned and broiled perfectly. On top of that, the salads are huge, the shrimp are monsters and the bread is to die for. Our service is experienced, the wine list is extensive and the drinks stiff. If you’re not a regular already, come by and let us prove why we’re so proud of what we do. Bob’s Steak & Chop House Just like last time. Just like next time.
“We were visiting from out of town for a few days and chose to dine here. It was our first time, and it felt like everyone knew! The management, servers, and hostesses all came to the table to welcome us—they were all fantastic and made it a truly special experience. Our server, in particular, was incredibly friendly and humorous. I loved the moody atmosphere, and oh my goodness, the food was delicious! We travel all around the world and have tried many good steaks, but this was probably the best steak I’ve ever had. The prices are reasonable, and they give you plenty of food. The drinks were also very strong! Whenever we get the chance to stay near DFW again, this is going straight to the top of our list. To top it all off, they even gave us two complimentary carrot cakes to go. If you have a special occasion or just a fancy date planned, just do it. It’s well worth the money. Take my word for it—you will experience excellent hospitality."”
“Bob's Steak & Chop House is absolutely a must-visit. From the moment we walked in, everything—from the warm, inviting atmosphere to the exceptional service—set the tone for a memorable evening. Our waitress, Timberly, truly elevated the experience with her attentiveness and spot-on recommendations. My sisters and I started by sharing the wagyu carpaccio and a blue cheese salad, along with their fresh-baked bread—an incredible way to kick things off. For the main course, we each enjoyed perfectly cooked steaks, accompanied by a glazed carrot and a variety of potatoes. Between the classic baked potato with all the fixings, the pan-fried potatoes, and the creamy mashed potatoes, it was impossible to choose a favorite. Even though we were completely full, we couldn’t resist dessert. With so many tempting options, we asked Timberly for her recommendation, and she didn’t hesitate: the peanut butter chocolate brownie sundae. She was absolutely right—it was Texas-sized and unforgettable. The warm brownie and melting ice cream, a delicate sugar sculpture, was delicious. By the end of the meal, we were happily stuffed and joking that we might need help getting back to the car. More importantly, it was the perfect setting to relax, talk, and truly enjoy catching up with each other. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.”
“Bob’s has always been a great place, every location has never disappointed! Last night was no different. It was my wife’s birthday, and the food, service and atmosphere was on par. The huge complimentary piece of chocolate cake was amazing!!”
“I feel like maybe because I visited on a Tues dinner time, maybe they were training a new chef. I did send my steak back twice for additional cook time. I will say that not only did they handle it very professionally; they completely made our evening right! I felt very very awkward sending a steak like that back because I have also messed up on cooking a steak that I served to a guest and it made me feel terrible. They took care of us and were very understanding. This place was not on our usual dining rotation, but because of the excellent service, wonderful atmosphere and the absolute perfect handling of an unfortunate circumstance; we will revisit and hopefully I can update this to an absolute 5 star experience. I just feel like a 5 star performance would be not having to send a steak back to be cooked more (I know I sound like a complainer). I really hope to bump this review to a full 5 in the future, literally everything else deserves the full 5! Don't let this review stop your evening, I'm pretty sure it was a fluke based on everything else. We will certainly return!”
“I used to visit Bob’s Steak & Chop House religiously during the ’90s. I’d take clients, co‑workers, and vendors to the Lemon Ave location all the time. Bob’s used to be about the true high‑end steakhouse experience in Dallas: great food, confident service, the works. It felt special enough to warrant the expense. So when I moved back to Dallas area recently I took my family to Bob’s at Grapevine and was left thoroughly disappointed. I ordered my steak Pittsburgh rare (think charred on the outside, blue‑rare on the inside). It came out… rare, but not Pittsburgh style. There was a little char on the top, but when I flipped it, the underneath had barely touched the grill. Again, this isn’t some trivial matter where you can’t notice the difference. Pittsburgh rare should be charred evenly and aggressively on all sides, while maintaining an ultra rare center. The cut was good quality, but it wasn’t cooked properly. The appetizers ranged from good to bad. The shrimp remoulade and calamari were both very good and felt right at home with what I remember from Bob’s. However, the special scallops were drowning in a sauce that overwhelmed the scallops. The steak tartare looked like chicken salad and tasted like mustard soaked indistinct meat instead of clean cut beef. The service was spot on though. Juan was our waiter and he was perfect. He made sure we had everything we needed, knew the menu inside and out, and had perfect timing with checking on us and refilling drinks. Meals were paced well and never once did our water glasses sit empty for long. Bottom line: the front‑of‑house is killing it. It’s what’s happening back of house that’s changed. Bob’s menu and ambiance at the Grapevine location still feels premium, but the kitchen needs to step up its game. Too many dishes fell into “good, but forgettable” and my whole dinner felt that way. Is more of a very expensive chain restaurant experience not the Bob’s experience I remember.…”
