Brecon Estate is the vision of Damian and Amanda Grindley, blending limestone-rich terroir, laid-back Australian hospitality, and small-lot winemaking. Inspired by the Brecon Beacons of Wales, Damian’s global winemaking journey and Amanda’s conservation background shape a refined yet relaxed estate rooted in authenticity and stewardship. Home to one of Paso Robles’ oldest vineyard sites, planted in 1971 and recognized by the Historic Vineyard Society, Brecon produces award-winning wines including Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Albariño, Malbec, and Rhône-style blends. Guests are invited to enjoy an unhurried tasting experience beneath ancient oak trees in Paso Robles’ Adelaida District.
“The wines were sooo good. Staff very nice. Beautiful setting.”
“My wife and I were driving back to our hotel when we passed Brecon. I drove for a mile and turned the car around. It was the best decision I made on our trip!we didn’t have a reservation, but the fine gentleman said we aren’t super busy right now, so he Sat us at a table. Pat was taking us through our tasting and he made it so enjoyable when presenting the wines to us. He’s just a laid back guy who knows his wine. For my wife and I, every wine at Brecon was perfect for our palette and each had a unique flavor profile. We ended up buying 12 bottles and look forward to reminiscing about the tasting experience with each bottle.”
“We visited Brecon for the first time this past week as part of our holiday festivities. The wine was excellent and the service staff were incredibly attentive and informative. This is a dog-friendly tasting room; we have an anxious dog that we socialize occasionally and the staff were so sweet and accommodating to his needs. The seating is well planned out with plenty of space for large and small groups in the same footprint. We brought our own picnic to enjoy, which we recommend to others visiting. The wines available for tasting were all unique and delicious, and it’s very clear the staff are very proud of the product they make and sell. We will absolutely make it a point to visit again when we are back in the area!”
“Great wine and atmosphere! Thank you Frank and Amanda for such an incredible experience. The wine was absolutely outstanding — rich, smooth, and full of flavor. You can really taste the care and craftsmanship that goes into every bottle. Thank you for sharing your passion and for making such wonderful wine!”
“We discovered Brecon after friends’ recommendation, loved their wine style, wines, and names (like Budgie Smuggler, which apparently you need to be Australian to understand), joined their club, received several shipments per year, and made our second visit for a member appreciation event. A library tasting in the cool cool cellar (blankets available) followed by an open tasting and charcuterie upstairs made us feel truly appreciated, which was the point. The highlights were the friendly and knowledgeable staff, 2017 Cab Franc, 2017 Feral Underclass (I told you they have great names), the incredible old Valley Oak tree in the outdoor tasting area, and Roy the Aussie Shepherd winery dog, who befriended me either because I gave him loves or because he was hoping I was either a pushover or that gravity was strong in the vicinity of my charcuterie plate. But I’m not a pushover and gravity was normal, so he moved on. Brecon has some of our favorite wines in Paso and it’s a great place to visit.”
