“When we arrive there was a large sign at the entrance, great job, drove to the parking area and we were early so we chose one of the spots along the fence. 80% of the parking is valet. Plenty of handicap parking available as well. Had a 4pm reservation. Arrived on time and seated within a few minutes. We arrived at 4pm when they opened. Party of 4 and they sat us in a quiet booth. We always prefer booths over sitting at a table in the middle of all the traffic. We got lucky. Decor was movie themed "The Godfather" and others movies but the entire atmosphere was wonderful, dark and calm. Even a the large table of 8 next to us was not loud. Server stopped by and offered water, bottled or filtered. Next they brought our bread service, the truffle butter is over the top and a must try if you like truffle. Ordered an iced tea and 2 Old Fashioneds. OF1 was Four Roses Single Barrel and was a little strong but good. OF2 was Wild Turkey Rare Breed and it was very good. Drinks were 4/5 only because they were served with small cubes. Not sure if this was intentional because we were ladies but the table next to us also ordered 2 OFs right after us and both gentleman received a single rock, which is how they should be served. Just an observation as some restaurants assume that ladies like their drink diluted, we don't and it would have been nice if we had been asked when ordering if which we preferred, a lot of restaurants do ask, especially when ordering a top shelf drink. We will give the benefit to the bartender that they were in a hurry to make our drinks. Crab Bisque with special made oyster crackers was the overall favorite of the night. This is the absolutely best crab bisque we have ever had along with their house made oyster crackers. Cesar salad was good. Next were the steaks. Boneless Ribeye with Burrow topping. Ribeye was cooked to perfection - char, seasoning and temperature were all spot on. Extra Burrow topping sauce was excellent, the crawfish was a little "mushy" but the sauce overall was very good. 2nd Boneless Ribeye had no special toppings and the char, seasoning, temp and taste were also excellent. Note that both ribeyes had very little fat on them, just enough to get that melt in your mouth texture/flavor without a fatty taste. Added one side of Truffle Fries with Malt Aioli. I did not personally order them but tried them and didn't know what the white sauce was and when I tasted it found it had a super strong vinegar flavor, I wasn't fond of it but did try it 2x to be sure. This was 100% a personal preference, not anything wrong with the sauce. I do like malt but it was just a little too much for me. The appearance of the truffle fries was very nice, taste of the truffle was perfect but the fries overall (without aioli sauce or ketchup) tasted as if they had sat under a heat lamp for a little too long. We thought they would be crispy but they were not. Last they brought out a chocolate cupcake with delicious icing for our daughters birthday. It was super moist and icing was perfect (thank you for that special gesture). Ordered the Peanut Butter Pie and I honestly have no words for that delicious peanut butter, chocolate ganache, oreo crust and Chantilly cream topped with nuts...unbelievable and the entire piece disappeared. Ordered a Butter Cake to take home and try, have not dove into that yet. Overall experience was very good and the service was exceptional. The young man who was the waiters helper had only been there a week and this was his first Saturday night, he did a phemonal job and nobody would ever know he only started a week ago (he only told us because we asked). Kudos to the management team for your training program!! I wish I could remember his name (it was 2 words, both started with an H) but he was proud to have been chosen and trained to do his job.”
“This is by far my favorite restaurant. It was my wife’s birthday. Every member of the staff told her happy birthday as we walked in. “Happy Birthday Rebecca” was printed on all of our menus. My children came with us. They were not treated like a second class citizen. The hostess literally gave them a box of 100 crayons to color with. They were impressed. The food is great, but the service and attention to detail are what makes it shine. Kayla, Laura, Ian and Christina paced our meal perfectly. Our cups never ran dry. It was a perfect evening and one we will remember for years. Thank you all.”
“We celebrated our son's 32nd birthday with a private room at Carlo and Johnny and it was a memorable evening. Our server, Phillip, was phenomenal and took care of our every need. The Waygu meatball was an excellent choice, as was the perfectly prepared Delmonico Ribeye steaks. We had the room for 3 hours, which had the perfect ambience of a time long gone! I highly recommend Carlo and Johnny for your special occasion! It will be memorable!”
“Went here for my husband's 30th birthday! We did valet since a lot of the fence spots were taken up with self-parking. Valet was quick and easy. We were greeted when we walked in. We were seated quickly. Hank was our waiter and Sam was helping him. Both were amazing. This was our first time at a Jeff Ruby's restaurant and we will be back. Hank was very knowledgeable and gave his advice on what to order! We started off with drinks. I had a Moscato D'Asti and my husband had a Pina Colada. The Pina Colada was the best one we have ever had. I ordered one later in our meal because it was so good. We had the Ruby Roll and Oysters Rockefeller. Both were very good! My husband did the $70 Lobster & Steak meal deal since you got to taste various aspects of Jeff Ruby's menu including the Freddie Salad. I had the Filet Scampi which was to die for. Both steaks melted in our mouths. For dessert, they came out with a cupcake for his birthday which was so good. Didn't realize just a cupcake could taste so good. We had the butter pie as well. We had never had butter pie before, and it was unforgettable.”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Masterclass in Hospitality If excellence has a home address, it’s Jeff Ruby’s Carlo & Johnny. I brought my wife and son for dinner, and we left with a new definition of what “great” means. My son and I ordered the 12oz Australian Wagyu Citrus-Fed steaks—cuts so tender and rich they practically disappeared on contact. His was crowned with the Collinsworth—Red King Crab, asparagus, Bordelaise, and Béarnaise—a bold, indulgent combination that turned an already perfect steak into a masterpiece. My wife’s filet was equally impressive: beautifully cooked, buttery-smooth, and simply unforgettable. The cocktails were well-crafted without being overdone, and the handmade desserts delivered a finale worthy of everything that came before. Service was perfection from start to finish. Our server, Josh, blended warmth, timing, and genuine expertise in a way that makes hospitality feel effortless. Manager Jordan brought a reassuring presence—the kind of leadership that quietly tells you you’re in a well-run house. Every detail was intentional, every moment polished without ever feeling pretentious. In an era where true creativity is rare and “unique” is often just marketing fluff, Carlo & Johnny stands in a category of its own. The experience is refined yet inviting, imaginative yet grounded, and clearly driven by skilled professionals who care deeply about the craft. To the owner: if you ever wonder whether the legacy you built is thriving, let me assure you—it is not only alive, it’s being executed with pride and precision every single night.”
