Welcome to Silk's Steakhouse at the Aldenberg Hotel in downtown Versailles, Kentucky. Our unique menu calls back to the classic steak houses of the 1950s while keeping an air of modernity with some of our more eclectic dishes and libations.
“Everything was incredibly delicious, and the wedge salad was the best I’ve ever had! The presentation was beautiful, the décor was elegant and inviting, and the staff were wonderful, attentive, and welcoming. A truly exceptional dining experience.”
“This was our first time visiting Silk Steakhouse and we decided to celebrate Mother’s Day a day early — and I can confidently say it was absolutely worth the beautiful drive out. When we arrived, we started with drinks at the bar, which were excellent. Once seated, we were offered a selection of breads, which were delicious, especially with the flaky salt on top. The butter was also incredible. The menu had so many great options to choose from. We started with the oysters, which were fresh and delicious, and our waitress did a fantastic job explaining everything thoroughly. The atmosphere is stunning — very equestrian-inspired with dark greens, maroons, and gold accents throughout. It felt elegant, warm, and thoughtfully designed. My husband ordered a steak and thoroughly enjoyed it. He even compared it to a steak from Tony's of Lexington, which says a lot. He mentioned that it wasn’t overly seasoned and had a really clean, delicious flavor. I ordered the lobster Thermidor, which was also very good. My only suggestion would be slightly less garnish on the lobster Thermidor and the cauliflower side we ordered — both tasted wonderful, but could shine even more with a little less on top. To finish the evening, we had dessert, which was heavenly, and they sent us home with two little cookies for a late-night snack, which I thought was such a thoughtful touch. Overall, the atmosphere and food were fantastic. We had a wonderful experience and will absolutely be returning.”
“We had a girls’ night dinner here and, wow, were we impressed!!! The food was outstanding, start to finish, beautiful cozy decor, and excellent service. The chef even came to our table to tell us about the making of the dessert. It was so special! Highlights (mostly our entire meal!) onion rings, pomme dauphine, trout amandine! The lemon chess pie and “tiramisu” were delightful. The cauliflower entree was also perfectly done. We are local and typically go to downtown Lexington for a special dinner, but will be heading to Silk’s more often! Can’t wait to go back!”
“We found ourselves here on a Saturday evening at 5 p.m., reservationless but optimistic. The lovely team graciously welcomed us despite our last-minute arrival, and I’m so thankful they did. The service was polished yet warm, and the meal was outstanding from start to finish. The tomahawk ribeye was easily one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, and the asparagus and potatoes were executed flawlessly. We can’t wait to return again soon.”
“I walked into Silks not sure what to expect. I walked out a fan. First: the room. Beautiful, classy, and dialed-in—no cheesy “special occasion” cosplay. The vibe is right, the lighting flatters everyone, and the music is that rare perfect volume: present, not intrusive. Whoever tuned that deserves a raise. Hospitality here is the quiet superpower. From the hostess to the servers to the manager, I felt looked after at every turn. Not hovering. Not disappearing. Just… steady, confident service. The kind that makes you relax and actually enjoy your night. easy. Now the food: The pork loin was the surprise knockout: cooked absolutely perfectly—juicy, tender, with that gorgeous char that tastes like someone actually respected the fire. It came topped with a bright, herby tangle (cilantro and shaved fennel vibes) that cut through the richness and kept every bite interesting. The oyster mushroom side was earthy and glossy in the best way—deep, savory, and finished with a little shower of chives that made it feel both rustic and refined. And the mashed potatoes with fresh chives were delightful. Then there was the Red Trout Amandine—crisped skin, sitting in a proper sauce, with a silky puree underneath and those thin radish slices on top for snap and peppery bite. It looked composed, it ate even better, and it didn’t fall into the trap of “pretty but forgettable.” This one had personality. And the bar program deserves its own applause. The Manhattan was balanced and serious—no syrupy nonsense—and the “Naked & Afraid” was flat-out fun while still being expertly built. Cocktails that feel like they were made by someone who drinks cocktails. Bottom line: I came in curious. I left impressed. Silks made the whole experience feel special without trying too hard, and that’s the sweet spot. Silks is a great experience and I count myself a fan.”
