Harper House is a Steakhouse restaurant in the Western Kentucky neighborhood of Cadiz.
“This is our second time visiting Harper House and once again we were not disappointed! We had the salmon and Riley, both were exquisite! The brussel spouts, red potatoes and asparagus were second to none. If you can only handle one side then I would go with the brussel spouts. We also enjoyed fried pickle chips for our appetizer. Our waitress, Callee, was very pleasant, professional and hospitable! Very warm and inviting establishment. For dessert, we enjoyed their butter pecan ice cream. Everything was 1st rate!”
“We made the drive from Clarksville and it was definitely worth the drive. We both ordered the ribeyes and they were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Our server Mark, was so great! He definitely made our experience even better. We look to coming back.”
“We've been to Harper House a couple of times, many moons ago when it was located in Hopkinsville...but never made it up to Cadiz when they relocated until last November. I didn't take any photos during that trip for this review and since everything about Harper House said, "Come on back and get some more." we decided to get back up there for another round. Reservations were for 7pm and we got there a tad early, but were seated promptly and probably right at 7pm...I wasn't checking my watch. We started off with a basket of their fried pickles (last time we started with the Group Grazing Board, but we had more in our party). They came out from the kitchen quickly and there's a really good portion for the price. They weren't as crispy as they could be, but they were really tasty. They came with a house made ranch dipping sauce that was just what we expected...ranch sauce. They did bring out some of their house cornbread as well with strawberry butter. I'm not a fan of cornbread all in all unless it comes in muffin form with cheese and jalapenos to eat with some pinto beans...but this was good. Had a hint of sweetness to it as well, which went well with the strawberry butter. My wife ordered the 7oz center cut filet mignon but she subsituted the mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts for Harper House Mac-n-Cheese and Crispy Red Potatoes. Initially, the filet came out slightly underdone, but they quickly made it right. She really liked it, said that it was exactly what a filet should be...and the peppercorn demi glaze made it that much better. I ordered the ribeye and kept the sides as is (baked potato & thin cut crispy onion strings). This was a super flavorful cut with an insanely rich, bold flavor and just the right amount of fat marbled throughout the cut. If you live right there in Cadiz and haven't been to Harper House, head over there to grab a bite. If you live down I24, you owe it to yourself to make the 30 minute drive and give it a shot. It's well worth the trip.”
“Harper House has is all, excellent food, great service and cool vibe. Live music going on with singer above bar. Our server was superb, very knowledgeable. Vast drink selection with local accent. A little pricey, but worth it. Brisket Queso was mighty good. Cajun slaw, something different. My smoke ribs were good, not great. Cornbread in skillet, special. Large portion. Great place for a special dinner.”
“Tried Harper's Steakhouse after hearing people talk about it, but I’ll be honest — it just wasn’t for me. Nothing about the experience really stood out, and the food didn’t hit the mark. I ordered the redfish with creamed cabbage and green beans, and the quality felt a bit low compared to what I’m used to. The shrimp and grits were decent, but nothing to rave about. One thing that did stand out was a sign up front that they were hiring line cooks, and honestly it kind of showed in the food. Maybe it’s a local favorite for some, but compared to other spots around Nashville, it just didn’t impress me. Not a place I’d rush back to.”
