Rock Steady is a modern Afro-Caribbean restaurant and bar in West Midtown, Atlanta. Our menu focuses on contemporary renditions of traditional Haitian and Jamaican cuisine, but also features a rotating selection of dishes inspired by the African Diaspora as a whole. Enjoy plates honoring the cuisine of places like Ghana, Nigeria, Cuba, Brazil, or Louisiana. Taking cues from the convivial, community vibe of the Caribbean, several plates are generous enough in size to be enjoyed with others. Dishes can be complemented with selections from our menu of hand-crafted rum-based cocktails, locally sourced spirits or craft beer.
“I really do enjoy this place every single time! I’m so sad about the calamari but the muscles were a good replacement. The music is loud but I like it! Right after eating we turned up in the club! Foe/Fie I’m sir sorry I forgot how to spell the waitress name she did great w recommendations specially for us tourist. This has been my staple since Feb 26’ now I love it. Everything is so good and seasoned. Even if you’re full try the apple pie! Thank you Foe!”
“First time visiting this restaurant on vday for galentine's. Everything was on point, food, the service, the ambiance and the music. Whoever owns this place takes pride in making sure their guests feel comfortable abd happy. There was a special menu for vday. I was looking forward to this one pasta dish but I will have to revisit to try it. Ya'll check them out, you will not be disappointed. There is valet service in the back and upstairs is where there were more of a club scene. Djs were on both the lower and upper level.”
“I had a reservation, parking is limited so you have to valet. I checked in and waited about 5 or so minutes. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, good menu selections for food and drinks. I ordered a margarita and it was just ok. For the price I need it to be good, been disappointed with these restaurants inability to make a good drink lately especially for the price. But the food was delicious!! Great flavor and cooked to perfection. Service was fine. It was packed in there so our server was going quickly between tables. Good place for a special occasion. We went to the upstairs part where they have the dj to check it out. It was ok but it was early around 930. We did stay long. Overall the restaurant was great!”
“Food was always great here. Plated with love. Tonight the chicken was dry, and just didn’t seem to have the moist texture so I asked if I can get anther one and that one came out a little undercooked when you cut into the chicken, top layer was okay, but that cut into the leg The second time. Is when I saw the red in the chicken, HOWEVER, I’ve never had that issue. Anytime I’m offered that meal it was PERFECT! it was tender and flavorful and the entire meal was just on point. The greens were too vinegary for me this time. But rocky steady hardly ever miss. It’s a vibe and the upstairs is a wonderland of fun! It’s going to always be my go to for a great time. I’ll always come back for the chicken too lol. That experience did not pluck my nerves. Please always give the place you visit a few times before you give up on it! I’ll return for the same meal! Moving along to the customer service it was SPLENDID, from the greeting to the seating. Our hostess was nice and we got seated pretty quickly. Jasmine was our waitress she was phenomenal. Her entire vibe was nice with us. She checked on us. Made sure we had a good experience and she took the entrée back to correct it. She was extremely polite and very nice. She made the experience better. Wish I had more photos”
“Went here for my mom’s 73rd birthday. Easy to get into and very nice atmosphere. Beautiful restaurant and decor. Staff was friendly for the most part, but it took long periods of time for her to grab our orders (and the place was half full). We order the drinks which were good, but the food was ok to me. We had the griot and it was covered in a sweet sauce, and the diri was dry and lacked the Haitian flavor, just taste like rice cooker peas & rice. The jerk chicken was ok, not a lot of flavor, lots of spice, but missing the flavor, but the collards were overly salted, and I couldn’t change it out for something else like cabbage. And the same with the curry, it was ok but missing that real island taste. Overall it was a good hang out, but too overpriced for the food. Especially since I couldn’t change the side (which I would have expected more callaloo vs collards). For almost $300, I expected more.”
