The Point in Fells

“I wish I remembered the names of the servers. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. To tell the truth, the restaurant's interior doesn't do justice to the food. You think you're getting good food, but it tastes like you're in a 3 star Michelin restaurant. Everything is well plated and appealing. Then the taste. We started with the fried devil eggs with crab. You get four. I savored my two like they had to last a lifetime. The crunch from the frying is perfect. Then the deviled egg with crab and a semi spicy sauce on top. It is wonderful. Then I had the two carb cakes entree with tator tots instead of fries. It came with cabbage slaw. We call that Cole Slaw in Wisconsin, but the way they do theirs in Maryland makes the plane fare worth it. Cauliflower, broccoli (yes you will love it), cabbage, and carrots. Then, a vinegar base dressing over it. There was some left in the bowl. I wanted to drink it. But, I am an adult and my wife was with me. The crab cakes. I have never had crab on the East Coast. I didn't know Crab Cakes could taste so amazing. Every bite said "Move to Maryland. You could eat crab everyday." There's hardly any breading, if there was breading. Nothing but crab. And, chunks of crab. I cannot say enough about The Point. I will add make sure you go and get the crab cakes. The price wasn't bad: $50.00, which is market price.”

“Made a reservation for Mother’s Day fun brunch, through Resy, and wished I picked another spot instead, here is why: 1. Walked in at our reservation time and no one there to check us in. 2. Finally someone came back and cannot find our reservation, I should her my text messages and email to ensure we have a reservation. 3. Sat us downstairs by a high table, and that table was nasty, with sticky drink spills and marks all over, we had to clean it ourself. 4. Because we waited for 20+ minutes no server even came over to greed us…finally we waived someone down and he said he can take our order. 5. We ordered a French toast, seafood omelet, crab cake Benedict, biscuits and gravy & drinks. Drinks came out fairly fast, but we waited forever for the food. 6. I personally was not a big fan of any of the mix drinks there, way tooooo sweet. 7. After the food finally came, they are ok, not bad. 8. Then we decided to order some additional food to take with, ugh…. So regret, cause we waited for almost 30min for the takeouts. 9. Additionally, they ask us to put a credit card down to open a tab as soon as our order was taken, and charge 20% gratuity automatically , but claimed they only charge this to big parties….REALY ? There were 4 people in our party, I never heard of party of 4 was considered a large party. 10. Atmosphere, dive bar vibe, loud not in a good way, uncomfortable dining seatings. Based on our experience from this time, I have to say, sorry, we won’t be returning to this place. I do not recommend this place.”

“The food was old from the day before and you can tell they cooked the chicken, crab cake and potatoes in old grease. I wouldn’t recommend this place. The one thing I can say is we did receive great customer service from the bartender and she removed both meal from the bill. I asked to speak with the manager but of course she was not available. 12:30 pm. (No one from the management team was available)All I wanted was a good meal.”

“We stopped into The Point on a hot, humid summer day, hoping for some cold drinks and good food. Honestly, the best part was getting seated immediately… which in hindsight might’ve been a warning sign 😅. We sat at our table long enough to contemplate our life choices before a waiter finally appeared. We were this close👌🏾to leaving when they took our drink order, and then disappeared again like we imagined them. It wasn’t even crowded, so the wait was extra confusing 🤨. Because service was already giving “don’t do it,” we played it safe with appetizers. The fried deviled eggs? I managed one bite and immediately regretted being adventurous. The crab dip tasted like a tub of cream cheese with commitment issues — barely any seasoning, and the crab must’ve been on vacation 🦀. The brown sugar wings were… fine. Not good, not bad, just “okay,” like something you’d eat at a cookout where you don’t really know anyone. At this point, I’m convinced some of the glowing reviews are from very hydrated (aka drunk) people because I did *not* experience the hype 🍻😂. We ended up leaving and finding another place to actually eat because it genuinely felt like we wasted money and stomach space. Overall? The Point just missed the point.”
