The Syndicate

“Just rolling down the highway heading back to Michigan from a music festival in Columbus. We were actually stopping to eat at the place next door (had seen a sign on the highway) but saw the outdoor seating at the Syndicate and decided to try it instead. Instantly impressed! Sunday brunch time, the vibe was chill. Staff was friendly but not pushy, very easy to chat with and had great things to say about the area. Our waitress Kennedy offered recommendations and made sure we knew all the great details like the menu was seasonal and everything was made in-house. So many great options, we seriously had a hard time deciding what to go with but ended up with the Shrimp & Grits, hot honey chicken sandwich and the eggs Benedict. Everything was perfect. Plus blueberry mimosas and treats to go: gluten free chocolate torte and literally the best carrot cake I have ever had in my life and I get it everywhere that serves it so I know carrot cake. All in all, we felt blessed to have found this place by just pulling off the highway. So amazing!”

“Absolutely amazing food. My fiancé and I ate here last night, we had the fondue pot for an appetizer and was awesome. She got the filet with smashed potatoes and asparagus, I got the ribeye with potatoes au gratin and Caesar Brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were the best I’ve ever had, nice and crispy but also tender. We’ll definitely be back.”

“Me and my new fiancé just went to the syndicate for the first time today for brunch to celebrate our recent 7 year dating anniversary and our engagement! I loved this experience! Great atmosphere, great food, great service! It was very peaceful and they were so kind! They even gave us a little card to congratulate us and free piece of cake! Might be our new favorite go to dining! Thank you!”

“We arrived around Brunch time and recieved the brunch menu. There wasnt any wait for 2 person party so we were sat indoors at a high top. We ordered the stuffed potato skins. They were pretty good. Then both of us just drank water, and got the same ribeye and eggs order. One was rare, other was medium rare. One was closer to being medium so the manager came and had the steak recooked. Then came back with a new steak and more potatoes. It was a bit overwhelming. Toast wasn't really toasted definitely still floppy. We dont like wasting food so we didnt want to be overly picky. Props for the care from the manager but we just wanted to eat and hit the road. Overall not horrible but not like super impressive. We got a coupon for a free app for our troubles but maybe another time or two I can redo this.”

“Took an 8pm reservation and we placed our drink and appetizer orders fairly soon after sitting down. The first round of drinks were brought reasonably soon as well as the apps, but it was over an hour before anyone checked on us or our entrees came. We saw staff literally sitting down and chatting with other tables during the busy period. We finally went to the bar and just ordered drinks ourselves. The food was pretty good although our medium rare steaks were very much medium. There was a tasty thyme ginger cocktail and we were looking forward to trying others but we were forgotten for an hour. Desserts looked good as well but it was so late by the time we finished eating we just wanted to leave.”
