Phoenicia Birmingham is a Lebanese restaurant in the Birmingham neighborhood of Birmingham.
“One of my absolute favorites! The food is always so fresh and flavorful that it's impossible to stop eating. Because everything is made with the best ingredients, you don't feel weighed down. Labneh is a must! Grape leafs are best anywhere. Lebanita, my favorite drink on the menu!!! Service is always great as well.”
“Had a lovely dinner at Phoenicia Wednesday evening (reservations highly recommended). Their reputation for an exquisite dining experience is evident in that everything is fresh and made from scratch. Our waiter, James, was exceptional, and helped us decide which appetizers would go well with our Bronzino main dish, which we decided to split and which was made to perfection. We opted for chicken and hummus, which my companion loved, even though she generally isn’t a fan of hummus. We also had the Arayes (Pita with Kafta / Tahini / Sumac Onions), Sujuk (Spicy Armenian Sausage in Tomato Sauce) and Fattoush salad. Lastly, we finished with the flakiest Baklava (not drenched in honey) and a creamy Chocolate Torte with Raspberry sauce - all delectable! This upscale Lebanese restaurant has a wonderful muted, yet elegant atmosphere with stellar service and excellent food. Looking forward to visiting again.”
“Reservations for birthday dinner. One of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Bronzino was perfectly cooked and filleted. Appetizer were fresh labneh, hummus, baba ganoush. Old fashioneds were perfect. Pricey but well worth it. Look forward to going back again. Not a huge issue; however, given the price point, ambiance could be cozier and intimate.”
“Like Phoenicia but not that much, interior decorations good, food good, service was really good, but just something was missing. Four of us came here for dinner, Lebanonese Salad was first ordered and served, fresh but too salty for me, while the baked peta bread was 👍 good. For main course, we ordered grilled white fish, lamp chop, and shawarma, all very 👍 good, especially the lamb chops I had, so tender and well-seasoned (while putting baby spinach without any dressings as side was kind of too simple). Have to mention their signature side dish, crispy potatoes, chopped and mashed potatoes seasoned and grilled, something will be remembered. All good, just something is missing.”
“This place is absolutely bustling, both with guests and staff, so expect a lively, busy atmosphere. The grill mix plate was solid overall, and we especially enjoyed the hashwi. Unfortunately, the labneh was a bit disappointing more yogurt or missing that signature taste. Parking can be tricky as their lot fills up quickly, so plan ahead. Reservations are definitely recommended.”
