“An incredible experience. Coming from someone that has been in the service industry. The food, the staff and the ambiance was incredible. Our server, Kayla, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Amazing drinks too! We sat outside in the Pavillion, which was screened in and plenty of air movement from the many fans. We will be back.”
“A very warm, elegant yet simple place to enjoy an excellent meal! It certainly enhanced our experience, among all the vibrant activities in this charming town! Our server was Natalie, such a beautiful, attentive and professional young lady! We were recommended this place by a colleague of my husband and we could not thank in him enough We order the tuna tartare Oh my God, that was DELICIOUS!), a burger (perfectly cooked!) and the chicken and red velvet waffles (Chef's kiss good!).”
“Not only was Jenna one of the best people we met during our time in Blue Ridge, but she was also an exceptional waitress. She was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made the experience better. We had the lamb lollipops, filet mignon, grilled peach salad with added grilled chicken, and the bread pudding for dessert, and everything was fantastic. And the bread that comes with the meal was absolutely delightful! It practically melted in our mouths.”
“What an incredible dinner and experience at The Black Sheep! This place has been on our radar and we are so glad we finally visited it. It is on par with the best of Blue Ridge. The atmosphere is super cute and feels special. The service is incredible! Ashley gave us perfect advice for our pallet. We don’t typically like lamb lollipops but she got us to try them and they were EXCEPTIONAL! The salad was perfection and the filet mignon melted like butter and cut with a fork. The chocolate at the end of our meal was a sweet touch. 10/10 recommend!!”
“Had dinner at Black Sheep in Blue Ridge last night and overall it was still a really solid experience, just not quite what we remembered from our first visit back in 2021. The atmosphere continues to be one of the best parts of this place. It’s a great setting, well designed, and the kind of spot you want to sit and enjoy a full dinner. Service was also very good—attentive, professional, and consistent throughout the night. Food-wise, this visit felt a bit different. Not bad by any means, just a little more manufactured and less authentic than we remember. We started with the oysters, and the standout of the night was easily the leek and potato soup—really well done, balanced, and probably the best thing we had. For entrées, the lamb lollipops were good, and the roasted duck was decent but leaned dry and didn’t really stand out—overall pretty ordinary. Cocktails were a bit mixed. The margarita came out on the sweeter side, but the dirty martini that followed was much better. The highlight was the peach Woodford Reserve cocktail—that one was excellent. All in all, still a great dinner and absolutely worth going, especially for the atmosphere and service. It just didn’t quite hit the same level as our first experience a few years ago.”
