BELL86 is a Korean restaurant in the Brookline neighborhood of Brookline.
“Great atmosphere, clean, and tasty food. Food is pretty authentic Korean. They give you a free sample of their pumpkin drink and a piece of kimbap while you choose menu. Seafood nooroongi was so good, soothing and perfect for chilly weather - a highly recommend. Also galbi was very good. The server was polite and helpful. They also get you to experience Korean coffee machine with 100 won when you head out. Pretty cool. Definitely put this restaurant on the list of places I want to take my visitors to Boston. Parking can be very tricky in the area though. Would recommend transit (there is Green line nearby and several bus stations) or Uber/Lyft. However our Lyft driver could not stop in front of the restaurant for some reason so had to wait on the other side of the road. FYI if you are planning to Uber/Lyft to the place. Busy street but inside is pretty well insulated noise-wise and they played classic Korean ballads. Bathrooms were also clean and tucked inside. Would recommend. Apparently some Korean celebrities ate here too.”
“Cute inside. The servers were incredibly helpful and kind. We sampled a lot from the tapas and got some specialties as well. The standouts were the pork belly, the mung bean pancake, and the kalbi jjim. The banchan is complimentary!”
“We came here with a reservation for dinner at 6:15 on a Saturday and we were promptly seated. The staff (including our server, Kevin, who was awesome) is incredibly friendly and helpful and made our time here very enjoyable! This Korean BBQ tapas joint has a cool lounge-like decor on the inside. We were provided a complimentary cinnamon drink as we sat down and it was excellent. We put in a few orders and the food started coming out shortly thereafter. The standouts for us were the complimentary bonchan, mung bean pancakes, spicy stir-fried Korean sausage, and the Army stew. The spicy Korean sausage was exceptional and my personal favorite! It has a nice level of spiciness to it and the texture and flavor of the sausage, marinade, and veggies were incredible! I loved the Army stew as well, the ramen noodles, spam, and broth hit the spot! Definitely recommend coming here to try this place out!”
“Food is a little overrated. Scallop shrimp skewers were nothing special. The bon chon was good. The galbi jjim was way too sweet. But the meat was very tender. Drinks were just ok. Overall, experience was good, but food is just ok. Worth a try, maybe not necessarily worth the cost for constant repeats.”
“I was so excited to try Bell86 but cannot recommend it based on the food! We got the fried rice cakes (extremely oily, tasteless even with sauce) and the fried chicken (super dry chicken, tough breading). The food was cute for pictures but not for eating :( Service was friendly and fast but I would not come back unfortunately.”
