Prospect at Scribners Catskill Lodge

“Saying at the Scribner’s so of course need to have a dinner here. During the weekdays it’s actually pretty empty. The vibe was chill and relaxing, the staff was very friendly and helpful, with great knowledge of everything on the menu, absolutely fine dining -ish experience. I got the trout as starter and red snapper as main course and the red snapper with coconut milk and curry was out of the world. The fish was so flaky and crispy outside, the coconut milk with curry was so creamy yet refreshing, and some kind of pineapple sauce was under the fish so you can mix and play around with the sauce. There also fish roe and bitter herbs adding some additional texture to the dish, I wish there’s some bread to go with it (dining solo and didn’t get the large bread which was my problem lol), I just wish there’s never ending sauce in that plate … Also got an old fashion from the bar, decent enough, the bartender was very nice! Overall amazing experience! Had their pool side food the next day, it was ok lol….”

“5 star Memorial Day weekend meal up here in the Catskills! It was a rainy weekend so we headed over to Scribners and ordered an amazing broccolini with hummus and the spring salad to start. Both an amazing flavor combination that felt very Swiss alps dining. We split the snapper and the burger which both delivered. Celebrating our anniversary the team at Prospect made us feel extra special with a delicious treat at the end. 10/10 will be back!”

“The best dining experience on the mountain. I live here and I’m originally from Long Island and very picky about dining out. This is hands down the best restaurant. The quality, experience and flavors are unmatched. Our waiter Eric is fantastic. He’s friendly and always remembers us. I appreciate so much when the staff knows the menu in detail and can make recommendations. This time we ordered the duck and red snapper. Fantastic!”

“Stayed at Scribner’s so naturally we had to check out the restaurant. Everything on the menu sounded amazing and a bunch of the options were gluten free. There are a lot of fancy cocktails too and even mocktails. We ordered the beet salad with creamy goat cheese. My husband ordered the tile fish and I ordered the butternut squash risotto, which was out of this world. I was so full I had to force myself to stop eating it it was that good. Service was great, there was a 21 person party there but our food came out relatively quickly. All wait staff were friendly! Definitely a place to stop by even if for just a fun cocktail.”

“While staying at Scribner’s, we wanted to give Prospect a try since it was so close and very cold out. Was very surprised with the quality of everything. Flavors are good but everything is fresh. My only gripe is that the fries with the burger are a bit too oily. The cocktails were delicious and were made perfectly. This is a great option if you’re staying nearby and don’t want to travel too far, would definitely recommend and I’d definitely come back again if I was staying here in the future.”
