167 Sushi Bar is a Sushi restaurant in the Downtown neighborhood of Charleston.
“A gem located on a tiny corner close to the marina. Went to a sunset cruise along the shores of Charleston. Got hungry after, luckily I find this spot. Though I wish they add Ramen initially to their menu. But otherwise I enjoyed it, cravings satisfied. Servers were attentive and all smiles.”
“We popped in for lunch and my husband said, this is probably the best lunch I’ve ever had… and I’ve been to Tokyo. (We might go back tomorrow). Omakase is the way to go. Wine pairings complemented the fresh buttery hunks of fish in such a perfectly underrated, yet elegantly tasty way. 167 Sushi is our new favorite place. Don’t go there. We don’t like lines.”
“From start to finish...well done! Greeter outside at front door is great. Made fantastic recommendations. Charred octopus. Best I've ever had!”
“Absolutely fantastic! Best seaweed salad and cucumber salad BUT be aware they are large so better to share. Shrimp tempura roll was great BUT they include the wasabi and soy sauce in the roll. My friend didn’t care for having wasabi included in the roll because she doesn’t like wasabi. On the other hand, I would have preferred it be separate because I like more wasabi than the wasabi included. Thank you for a great meal.”
“We came back to this sushi bar after a year, and unfortunately, it’s nowhere near as good as it used to be. The fish quality has noticeably gone down — what used to be buttery and fresh now tastes chewy and lacks that delicate texture you expect from good sushi. On top of that, the service was extremely slow this time around. It took them ages to prepare even simple nigiri, and the restaurant wasn’t that busy. When we finally asked for the check, the server acknowledged it but disappeared for a long time before bringing it — it really felt like they just didn’t care. To make things worse, prices have gone up, yet the experience has gone downhill. Overall, it feels like everything became more expensive while the quality and attention to detail declined. If you’re looking for a sushi place with truly fresh fish and attentive service, I’d recommend going somewhere else.”
