Edison is a New American restaurant in the James Island, Charleston, SC neighborhood of Charleston.
“Edison was a great place to eat at! We ordered the Shrimp Cavatelli and the Tuscan Swordfish as our two entrees and they both were delicious. We started with an appetizer of the Vietnamese Pho Tacos and they were excellent as well. We ordered for desert the Blackberry Key Lime Pie which was excellent. Could not recommend the Edison anymore! Definitely a place worth checking out.”
“Edison is one of my favorite restaurants on James Island, and our Valentine’s Day dinner reminded me exactly why. We went for the prix fixe menu, and every course was outstanding. The she crab soup was rich and perfectly seasoned, and the escargot was beautifully prepared. Our salads — kale and avocado — were fresh, bright, and balanced. For entrées, the London broil was tender and flavorful, and the shrimp and lobster gnocchi was decadent without being heavy. We finished with a peach tart and a chocolate sachertorte, both delicious and thoughtfully plated. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Edison consistently delivers a special dining experience, and this Valentine’s menu was truly memorable. Highly recommend!”
“This is a great date night spot and much closer than going downtown (and far leas traffic). We made a family night of it and from the moment we walked through the door we had a great experience. The brussel sprouts were a great starter and the steak frites hit the spot and I had leftover steak for breakfast the next day. My daughter loved the Edison bulb for dessert and I managed to find room for some cheesecake. The atmosphere and ambiance is cozy without being pretentious, despite the upscale food and wines. Definitely give them a shot if you’re in the area.”
“I had the most delightful experience at this hidden gem tucked away in the heart of James Island! From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere set the perfect tone for the evening. The cozy, charming vibe of the restaurant made it feel like a true escape, and I could instantly tell that attention to detail was a priority here. The food was absolutely incredible – each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. It’s clear that the chefs put a lot of love into their craft. The menu has something for everyone, and everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. What really stood out, though, was the impeccable service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure we had a memorable dining experience. I felt like a valued guest from start to finish. Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit! Whether you're a local or just passing through, it’s the perfect spot for a cozy meal with great food and even better service. Can't wait to return!”
“A nice restaurant to try. The chicken fried oysters are excellent. The Blackstrap Braised Short ribs are excellent as well. The Chicken and Waffles are good but nothing to write home about. The Apple Fritters were burnt and the Blackberry Key Lime is just a Key Lime pie with Blackberries on it. Bet and wine are available but no liquor due to proximity to a school. Service started great but once they were busy the staff was unattentive. Noise level grew with the crowd and I felt like I was sitting in a sports bar. There is no real ambiance. A good place to try but they lose on calling me back.”
