The Watch Rooftop Kitchen and Spirits is an American restaurant in the Harleston Village neighborhood of Charleston.
“Whenever we're in the city, this is one of our favorite stops for a late-afternoon rooftop drink and a few appetizers. We've enjoyed the sliders, truffle fries, salads, and cocktails, and everything has consistently been excellent. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff has always been friendly, attentive, and professional. Our wait staff has been especially engaging, taking the time to interact with guests and helping create a fun and enjoyable experience. We've never made a reservation and have always been able to find outdoor rooftop seating, which is a nice bonus. Thank you for consistently providing great food, drinks, and service. A genuinely great staff is becoming harder to find these days, and it's one of the reasons we keep coming back.”
“This place is exquisite when it comes to quality of food and drinks, the gorgeous view, and greats happy hour prices. My only critique would be that the servers who are lovely… are spread too thin by management. We were waiting too long for refills on our drinks and for our check to arrive and I do not blame the servers at all for that because they were quite lovely, but too busy, I blame management and I hope they will try to do better because this is such a wonderful place and I would love to come back to see improvement.”
“Lovedddd this restaurant! Convinent to king street and associated parking but tucked inside the beautiful restoration hotel, The Watch is a little piece of the slow Southern lifestyle that seems to be missing in too much of Charleston these days. The food and cocktails were delicious - highly recommend the braised beef orecchiette and the burrata and jam! Definitely try to sit on the front patio for the views (its less windy than the back patio too) but on cold/hot days the inside is beautiful and cozy too!”
“The rooftop here is lovely but quite breezy. We had a lovely dinner with one of the best sunsets I have seen in a while. Food was a little hit or miss. The deviled eggs were bland, not seasoned well. The duck tagliatelle was tasty but too salty. The star of the show was the blackened scallops perfectly cooked and served on a bed of grilled corn. Service was spotty with gaps in timing. Even so, we enjoyed our meal.”
“I wish I had a better experience here because I was excited to try it out since it's on the rooftop of our hotel. It was the most disappointing meal I had on our five day trip. We ate at dinnertime on a Wednesday evening. We were seated in an odd area where only one other party of two was seated. I ordered macaroni and cheese, which looked fine at first. However, upon first bite, I realized it was cold and the cheese hadn't melted. There wasn't any seasoning. I ended up kindly letting the waitress know I wasn't a fan, and she was awkward the rest of the time she was waiting on my partner. If you notice there aren't many photos of the macaroni and cheese here on Google, this is why. Don't order it.”
